"Report from the 828 Rally-- A slap in the face"

God's Slap in the Face to Christian Leaders

I went to the 828 rally on with my wife and her parents who live in the Washington D.C. area. We flew in from Orlando.

I was expecting from 30,000 to 100,000, so I figured that arriving at 8am would be sufficient to find a good seat on the reflecting pool. When we arrived at the Lincoln Memorial it was already packed out with at least 500,000 at that time and people kept pouring in. My father in-law (Retired Navy) and life long resident of D.C  and who is not a fan of the tea party or Sarah  Palin estimated it to be close to 1,000,000.  That is based on  all of the events he has attended in D.C.  He came because he is a WW2 vet and the theme was to honor the military.

Glenn Beck has been criticized by some Christians for his Mormon beliefs.

I have read the articles written by John McTernan (http://www.johnmcternan.name/)  written on August 29, 2010  and the article written by Brannon Howse  (http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-times/article.php?articleid=6439)

Both attack  Glenn Beck for his Mormon beliefs, of which I have not heard a lot of from him and I watch his show regularly. The rally was overwhelmingly Christian- if some Mormonism was snuck in the event then I didn’t see it. I like what Glenn Beck says and I will not become a Mormon.

My own opinion on what is “going on”   is  stated in the Word of God:

Acts 5:37-39

After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him; he too perished, and all those who followed him were scattered. So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God."

If what Glenn Beck is doing is a work of God then it will not fail, but if it is simply a human endeavor then it will fail. We shall see.

Of the criticism that Glenn Beck is a Mormon, my response also comes from the Word of God:

Matthew 3:9

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our  father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

If, God can turn stones into children  of Abraham, then can turn a Mormon into a follower of Jesus Christ. Glenn Beck  can do God's work whether he is a Christian or not. God is not limited to just using believers, particularly if they are not available.

My Lord is Jesus Christ. I do not follow Glenn Beck. I do however like what he says. He speaks the truth about what is going on in our government and culture that we do not hear from our Christian leaders or pastors.

A Slap in the Face

I believe that God is using Glenn Beck to slap American  Christians and particularly American Christian leaders in the face. At times like this there should be a man of God, a firm believer in Jesus who rises up to lead us in truth and to  restore righteousness in our government.

But where our Christian leaders? -- They have become whores and are sleeping with the enemy.

Who is the most famous Christian (?) leader?.... Rick Warren…What is he doing?

He has disavowed any support for the marriage amendment in California (Prop 8), because it offended his homosexual friends. (http://www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=481280)

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?  Amos 3:3  How can a Christian have a friend who is godless?

We have pastors who worked to get Barrack Obama elected, men who cannot recognize evil. There was even one pastor who gave the closing prayer to the Democratic convention that nominated Barrack Obama,  and that at the end of the prayer asked all attendants to pray to their own false god.

Psalm 16:4

The sorrows of those who have bartered for another god will be multiplied; I shall not pour out their drink offerings of blood, Nor will I take their names upon my lips.

Our Christian leaders are chasing after  false gods, whether for money, power, fame or they just don’t know Jesus (Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.. Matthew 7: 21).

Christians  are desperate for leadership, but known is to found.

My own feeling is that the United States of America and all it has stood for in terms of freedom for the individual and restraint on tyranny is dead. The upcoming elections will do nothing.

What we saw on Saturday August 28,  2010 was the death throes of our freedom.

Christians in America  prepare yourself for persecution, if the rapture does not occur this year  we will feel the sting of a government that hates all things Jesus… and that includes US.
