"RE: Bruce Baber - parallels to the plagues"
Bruce asked:
A final thought. The plagues of Egypt were a
precursor to letting God's people go. If the current events
really are a modern parallel to the plagues of Egypt, does this mean
that we are about ready to depart for the real Promised Land? Is
the rapture close?
You can view the parallels of the Egyptian plagues, and the events described in Revelation on this chart:

If you will recall, God's people remained in Egypt throughout the
plagues. However, after the fourth plague, God's people were protected
from the remainder of the plagues in Goshen. (They fled to a place of
protection) The fourth plague lines up with the mark of the beast at
the mid-point of the final seven years. (Rev. 12:6)
It was immediately after God's people left, that Pharaoh and his armies were destroyed.
No one entered the promised land without first going through the wilderness.
