So enjoyed hearing from you!
My dad was born in Rockford in 1898.
We had friends in Polo who had a parrot and would sometimes take a Sunday afternoon jaunt there for a visit.
When I think of our Eternal Home, I think not only of the things that He has prepared for us, but I'm also delighted in the things that will be missing, such as (but not limited to!) barking dogs, wind chimes, whistling trains (which travel 24/7 3 doors from me!), prisons (one opened in my little town in January - crime is increasing already!), polluted air (polluted by the prince of the air - in MANY ways!), so-called "music" which bombards us all the time (even while on "hold"!), fattening food (OOPS! Oh - but grape sherbet isn't fattening, is it?), noisy boats to spoil our enjoyment of the scenery, etc., etc., etc! Just the absence of this kind of "stuff" will make it "heaven"!
Oh! But to be with Him! THAT will truly be Heaven!
I'm so looking forward to meeting you - SOON!
P.S. Sorry for not chatting with you yesterday but my computer was in the shop. I was looking forward to possibly hearing from you so your reply was the first thing I looked up just now when my machine was returned and hooked up.
P.P.S. I've never had grape sherbet, however - since it's GRAPE, don't you suppose it just might be dessert at our Marriage Supper? HMMMM! And - additionally (or maybe the following evening), Huckleberry Ice Cream will be on the menu! And/or Marion Berry Pie! And, of course, don't forget the Ground Cherry Preserves! (I'm drooling!) We DO know that EVERYTHING we desire will be there. Thankfully our desires will be in COMPLETE agreement with His!
