The riser pipe that BP capped is not the source of the actual leak. The bore hole that was destroyed is ten miles away. The transocean rig was driven away from the well bore after the explosion to protect the workers and allow them a chance to jump off. The riser, which is down very deep, was like a hose that had been turned off but was still draining. In this case the liner pipe was draining hydrates. The ruptured hole is putting 120,000 million gallons of methane and crude into the Gulf per day. BP is lying, there is no end in site and only a micro nuke can save the Gulf. If its not done soon, the entire warm water ocean streams will be disrupted and a suddenly ice age is a distinct possibility.
