"reply to Donna re 2014 or 2015"

Hi Donna -

you wrote:

In reply to your 8/21 post at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/aug2010/clay821-4.htm in regard to the mirror number of 5775, I thought Rosh Hoshanah 5775 begins on 9/25/ 2014 and not on 2015 as indicated in your post.  Rosh Hoshanah 5776 begins on 9/14/2015.

you are correct -

go here:

which states that Israel's year 5775 begins the evening of Sept. 24, 2014

I wrote in my post:

"I believe there is only one year in our lifetime that is an Israeli year that is a mirror number. That is:

5775

That will begin Rosh Hashana 2015, leaving 2014 to finish out for the Gentiles."

I stand by my correct statement, though, perhaps, it is not worded clearly which i apologize for.

here I restate myself in regard to the awkwardly worded statement -

" ...leaving 2014 to finish out for the Gentiles."

I perhaps should have said:

"Israel's year 5775 (their 2015) begins on Rosh Hashana, in the still current Gentile year of 2014. there is a window of overlap between the two calendars. from September 24 to and including December 31 of that year the Gentiles are still in the year of 2014. Israel is three + months ahead of the Gentile calendar."

hope that helps.
