Dear John,
I am not a "member" of 5 Doves, but I read the posts daily - and have for
almost a year now. I have way too many "opinions" to start adding to the items
already being shared, so I just enjoy following the teaching, joys, concerns,
Looking Up, etc. with the others who post, but I am blessed every day by many
of them.
However, I felt I needed to respond to "Sherry" on this one and as you can
see, I queried my 24 year old son on this as he does have skull items and has
been a bit rebellious over the "days of his youth" but now is finally beginning
to grow up. So, I share his response with you to share with Sherry - preferably
privately, or if it is shared "online" then remove his information - but if she
wishes to email with him certainly give her his info.
Just so you have a little background as to where he's coming from: he
became a Christian when he was 8 years old when we were living in Incline
Village, NV. He was home schooled from 6th -12th grade, then we moved back to
Orange County - from The East Bay in N. CA. At 17 years, he partook of
everything Newport Beach had to offer - so he knows about "things". He was a
friend of the designer, Paul Frank and a patron in GREAT STANDING at South Coast
Plaza and Rodeo Drive, so he knows fashion from the top down - like no other,
really. SO, when he says children should not be wearing anything with skulls on
it, I'd be tempted to take his word for it.
I hope this helps Sherry. His comments are in
blue - below.
Sheridan

| i dont think children have any
place wearing anything with a skull on it. its not appropriate for some one of
a young age...i'm conflicted to a degree about that 'misfits' shirt i have with
the big skull on it, i know im a little out there but i at least understand what
it represents and i know my spiritual standing. kids shouldn't wear that sort
of thing, talk about the loss of innocence... |
