Thanks for posting this article.  Praise God! Jerry Golden is back home.

Yes, I believe there is a connection between  the cell phone  and where one carries it on the body!  You see, couple of years back my son, at that time he was only 23yrs, complained of a lump on the left side. I realised it was hernia, for he works in the library and thought that he had strained himself by carrying too many books.  But that did not make sense, for even the ladies carry those books and they did not seem to have too much problem, except wrist and hand which are work-related complains. I took him to the GP and she said that it was bad case and needed immediate surgery.  Meanwhile I had read so many articles about cell phone and when I quizzed my son, and he did admit that he carried his phone on his left pocket.  During his undergraduate studies of IT and then his Masters he always had the phone on, in case the Brisbane Council contacted him for work.  He was working and studying at the same time.

Anyway, we went to one surgeon and he was all gleeful, and said that hernia was his bread and butter.  You can imagine, that statement really put me off.  This was in May 2006 (Winter here in Australia), and we put it off for summer of 2006, that was around Dec that year.  Then when my Mum went to see her Colo-rectal surgeon re: her benign polyps, we inquired about him performing the surgery for my son and he readily agreed and asked him to come and see him.  I took him next month (Feb 2007), and praise the Lord, by then the doctor found it hard to detect any significant lump.  By then I nagged my son to switch off the cell phone, and only have it on in an emergency, and to carry it outside on the  waist belt.  Now even that, I caution him saying that it would affect his kidney etc.  Hence he rarely has it on.  Only when He needs it, and when he goes for meeting he is forced to on it, for he is the Team Leader for  2 part time libraries, but he carries it in his bag or leaves it on the table, not on himself.

Anyway the surgeon was reluctant to do anything, and knowing that I was not keen to let my son go under knife, he asked us to come in Sept 2007, after a full day’s work of being on his feet etc, for hernia gets worse at the end of the day.  We went again in Sept and there was no trace at all, and the surgeon was very pleased.  This surgeon nearly operated on my Mum for colon cancer in  Oct 2005, just in time they found she did not have colon cancer and they saw the Lord work mightily re: her ovarian tumour, which they believed was cancer, for tests came positive, but later turned out benign. This was another miracle for him.  So far so good.

I am having a couple of cysts in my right ovary, and I used to carry my mobile phone in my handbag on my right side, where my handbag used to stay. Nowadays I am so sensitive that if I am having a slight headache and have my cell phone on, and in no time it become a full, blown migraine. Shopping centres do not help either, for every dick, tom and harry is carrying the cell phone and by the time you get out of the shopping centre you feel sick and tired.

I believe the cell phone is more dangerous than carrying a lighted dynamite, and the problem is it has a long, long fuse.... it takes a few years before its effects are felt and by that time the damage is done.  I cringe when I see so many parents give their children cell phones without realising how much damage they are inflicting on them!
