"AC heritage"
Just
finished listening to a 4 part series by Chuck Missler.
It’s on www.Godsnews.com , part 4 is what you want to listen
to. An interesting item that he talks about is the belief
of many that the AC is a product of Rome or Europe…conventional
wisdom. That is because of the verse in Daniel that speaks
of the people of the “prince who is to come”…as being the ones who
destroyed the Temple in 70 AD. The Romans did that,
hence, the AC is Roman and/or European. However, he says,
the Roman legions were not all composed of Romans,…many of them,
including some who laid siege to Jerusalem in 70 AD, were, in fact,
conscripts or foreigners drafted into the Roman army, but not of Roman
blood. Now, skip over to Isaiah and , actually,
Ezekiel where the AC is referred to as the
‘Assyrian’. Missler again….who are the
Assyrians (they are not the Syrians)? He says that
the Assyrians were a compilation of people groups from Syria, Iraq and
Turkey. Those three groups, primarily, made up the group
called Assyrians. O.K….so what? Consider
this, then…..the AC is not Roman/European as many say, but rather
someone from that area that formally comprised Assyria, someone whose
background could be traced to one of those people groups…Syrian, Iraqi,
Turkish. All of that is from
Missler. I don’t know if he is right or not, but it
does beg the question of if the AC is European, why then is he referred
to several times as the Assyrian? I offer that for
general discussion. RJ
