"Bear Dream"
Dearest 5 Doves - this website is such a wonderful blessing, and with a hungry heart I visit here every day (except Sunday!) and am wonderfully blessed by all of you. I've not shared much of myself, - I'm married (33 years this year!), a grandmother, am a RN, and I'm a cochlear implantee. Our God brought me to this site years ago while I was in the midst of severe trials and in the last 10 years, I've probably sent only three or four posts to share. But, this week I believe the Holy Spirit gave me a dream and I'm to share it with you.
I've been asking Holy Spirit His presence and teaching even throughout the night hours and last Saturday night (Aug. 2nd) after prayer I went to sleep and began to dream very shortly afterwards. Like many, I do not often recall my dreams, but I awoke afterwards and I immediately asked the Lord if this dream was from Him. An interpretation was given right away, and this week with the "Bear" (Russia) arising again, I sense from the Holy Spirit an urging to share this dream with you my brothers and sisters.
I dreamt I woke up, rose from my bed and went into our kitchen to get something. When I looked to my left there was a large brown/grizzly bear charging me. He was snarling and angry, was of a tan color and appeared to be dirty with matted hair - like dreadlocks. We live in Alaska, in a home that is single story, but in my dream we were two floors up and the bear had come through a second story window (the front of the house has a bank of six large windows). I'm accustomed to bears and have encountered them from time to time in the last 40+ years. We've had too many in our yard at a time; they've chased us, broken into our garage, and I've almost bumped right into them hiking/hunting, so they're not unfamiliar to me.
This bear was different - he was coming to destroy me, and after seeing him I was terrified and ran down the hallway to my bedroom, slammed the bedroom door and all the while I was screaming for my husband to help me and trying to get the door latched. My husband awoke and got up. There wasn't noise coming from the door, so we cautiously opened it and crept down the hallway to the living room. The bear was gone. Our two sons (who are both grown and married) were living with us in my dream and they wandered out of their rooms inquiring as to all the noise and ruckus. I'm very worked up by this time of course and was trying to explain to them and my husband what had happened; they weren't really believing me and then my youngest son went to the bank of windows at the front of the house; one was broken out and he said "it came through here Mom." I went to the windows and looking down the street we saw the bear along with two others - one was black and one was reddish br
own. The bear that had been chasing me turned and started up the street towards us again. I began yelling "he's coming back, we need to get ready for him."
Here's the interesting part of the dream: My husband left the room and returned with a RUBBER BAND to repel the bear! Now, we hunt and have guns and I asked him (not at all calmly) how he thought his rubber band was going protect us and he said if he hit it's nose it could repel the bear - I was shocked to say the least, and couldn't believe what I was hearing. My sons and neighbor men began to gather in the house and one man suggested using a slingshot against the bear. So, here we were milling about with rubber bands and sling shots and I'm shouting "we need the BIG guns!" No one would listen to me; they insisted that they could deter the bear with their rubbber bands and sling shots.
The bear then leapt through the same window space he'd broken through before and I woke up.
As I'd stated earlier, I believe the Lord gave me an immediate interpretation - that though we may think we're protected, we can be attacked from sources and in ways we don't even consider. I remember thinking while dreaming "this is impossible; no bear can come through a second floor window." But it did. And the "weapons," we were wielding were laughable and certainly would not be effective.
When the news reports began about Russia and Georgia fighting this last week, this "bear" dream immediately came to mind.
Your sister in the Lord,
Maranatha!
