What I mean by the USA 'backing Israel' is by providing weapons such as the new fighter jets recently 'sold' to Israel that do not have to refuel on a round-trip from Israel to Iran. I agree that the extent of USA involvement will be limited to weapons and 'moral support'. You and I are on the 'same page'.
 
ADDED NOTE:
The turning point of the Revolutionary War was when, with Devine Intervention, George Washington decided ( or God decided) to cross the Delaware in the dead of night to surprise attack and capture the Hession army without losing a single American soldier. Had the Delaware River frozen over and the Hessions had crossed over the river Washington's rag-tag army would have been defeated and the history books would read differently. God has had a plan since before the beginning of time and nothing can change it. We do not have long to wait.
