You know how intent, in tune watchers try to not set dates, yet find it so easy to get enthralled by a certain season? For most of us, it’s either spring or fall…. Although I’ve said many, many times it could just as easily be summer or winter. However, I was wrong about the gift giving when the 2 witnesses are killed being close to Christmas and/or Hanukah as Rev. 11 notes that is when the world “makes merry”. By checking Luke 15 (prodigal son story) we see that when he returned to the father, they “made merry” ~ so that was/is merely a term used meaning that they celebrated and rejoiced….no more, no less. And no doubt, same thing that will happen when the 2 witnesses are murdered.

WHY do I think that the rapture (if it is to be this year) will most likely be just any day now – quite likely on, by, or before Rosh Hashanah? It’s very simple.

If you suppose, as I do, that the tribulation gets underway super soon after the rapture [satan is going to WANT that limelight, and will not want to waste any time getting it, IMO] then note from Matt 24: 40,41: [rapture] Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken & the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken & the other left.

Most likely, due to winter coming on, the months for working out in the field are from early spring through fall. But you see, people need to be out in the fields working BOTH at the rapture AND at 3.5 years later!!

At the middle of the 7 year time line, when it is time for the Jews to FLEE Jerusalem and run for their lives: People will again be working IN THE FIELDS at that time [mid-trib]

Matthew 24:18 “And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.” Some will make it; many will not: and even in the OT, this day was spoken of: Ezekiel 7:15b-16: “Whoever is in the field will die by the sword; And whoever is in the city, Famine and pestilence will devour him. 16 Those who survive will escape and be on the mountains” [note: this is when they, the Jews, escape per Matt 24:15-21 & flee to Petra to be cared for by God Himself for the duration of the Great Tribulation of 3.5 years, also noted in Rev. 12:14]

If our redemption (rapture to heaven) *is* to be THIS year, then unless I’m just way out in left field myself, then our most likely window will be any day between now & Rosh Hashanah, possibly on Rosh Hashanah, or even before then…. That way, once the peace accord is signed and the tribulation begins, count 3.5 years ahead – that would place mid-trib close to spring – time for workers to be out IN THE FIELDS once again!!!!! Sure, we could be raptured after Rosh Hashanah, however, workers need to be out in the fields both at the time of the rapture and at mid-trib. [not much work is done in the fields after about Oct ...until spring comes again]

Could the rapture take place even before Rosh Hashanah? Certainly. And the war of Is. 18 does indeed make one wonder: 5 For before the harvest, when the blossom is over and the flower becomes a ripening grape, He will cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and the spreading branches He will remove and cut away.

It goes on to say the ravenous birds will “summer” upon them & the beasts of the fields will winter upon them – but if the birds of summer are mentioned first??…. then dead bodies have to line the fields at some point during summer? Again, one can only wonder.

Also, keep in mind that PM Olmert has set a Sept. 17 date of finding his own successor [exactly 2 weeks before Rosh Hashanah]. Will the covenant be confirmed BEFORE Olmert leaves office? While there is a “great incentive” as Blair put it in his interview? Will the rapture really happen some time this month or next? It’s looking very, very possible Christian! ~ even probable. Jesus could literally step out onto a cloud for us this very afternoon. We watch & pray always that we may be counted worthy to escape!
