A WorldNetDaily article indicates the following in its opening paragraphs:

President Bush will interrupt his summer vacation in Crawford, Texas, next week to attend the third summit meeting of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP, slated for Aug. 20 and 21 in Montebello, Quebec, at the five-star Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello resort.

Bush will meet with Mexico's President Felipe Calderon and Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the event.

The meeting has been hidden in a cloud of secrecy until WND obtained from an Access to Information Act request a previously unreleased copy of a government report detailing agenda plans for the third SPP summit.

According to WND reports, as many as 10,000 protesters are expected to be in Quebec to oppose the meeting.

Why is everyone so up in arms about this meeting and, secondly, why is this summit of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America being shrouded in secrecy?

Rumors persist that covert plans are being implemented by elements within the United States government to create what is being referred to as a North American Union or NAU. If true, and I urge my readers to research this matter themselves and draw their own conclusions as to the veracity of the rumors flying about, the very sovereignty of the United States of America may be on the verge of being usurped without any congressional oversight whatsoever - at least that we know of. An example of how far this plot may have progressed already, it is being suggested that a common currency to be used in the North American Union, similar to the European Union's euro, is already in the works and is to be called the 'amero.'

Not only is it being suggested that a North American Union is in development, it is being suggested that a continental-wide African Union is coming as well. A WND report indicates that "while the AU is still in a formative state, it's already officially designated by an emblem, a flag, an anthem, a central bank, and unified continental military force."

While I don't discuss topics of this nature very often, I want my readers to keep their minds (and eyes) open to the possibility that a new world order which many suggest has been being planned by shadowy organizations around the globe, some of which I've highlighted on this site in the past, may be taking form in the world around us beneath our level of awareness. If this is the case - and the verdict is unknown for now - none of us should be overly surprised to discover it's true.

In the Bible we're told that a prince of Roman descent - the prophesied Antichrist - is going to confirm a covenant of peace seven years in length between Israel and her enemies. (Daniel 9:26-27) This single satanically empowered man, as we see in Revelation 13:7-8, is going to be given power "over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Not only that, we're told that "all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." This clearly indicates that the prophesied Antichrist is going to benefit largely from all the globalization efforts being made by those presently in power all around the globe.

Are all the organizations and leaders from around the world secretively dedicated to bringing about a new and satanic world order that will give rise to the most evil dictator the world has ever known or are those involved in these quests genuinely concerned about the future of mankind if we don't find a way to bring down all the barriers that separate humanity, from international borders to individual currencies and competing economies? It's questionable, in my opinion.

Given the deceptive nature of Satan, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that many involved in seeking to globalize the world today legitimately believe they're doing what is best for mankind, many of them having no idea whatsoever that their efforts are setting the prophetic stage for one man - the most evil man the world has ever known - to woo mankind into giving him nearly total control of the planet.

Having made a name for himself as a great peacemaker, the true nature of the Antichrist will not be immediately known until, as he rises to the pinnacle of his power, he will enter a Holy Temple of the Jewish people that will be in operation at the midpoint of the Tribulation Period and desecrate it, announcing to the world that he is the god of all mankind - literally. (Matthew 24:15, Mark 13:14)

It will be at this point that the Antichrist will openly, defiantly and militarily begin to "oppose all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." (2nd Thessalonians 2:4)

From the time the abomination of desolation occurs, the final three and one-half years of the Tribulation Period will be nightmarish by any standard.

Matthew 24:21-22: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

By the time Christ returns at Armageddon, as we see in Scripture above, all flesh will be at the brink of extinction, demonstrating how inadequate, especially under the leadership of Antichrist, mankind is when it comes to making decisions that will benefit itself outside of obedience to the will of God as defined in the Holy Bible.

Globalization concerns? I have plenty of them! Just think, for example, how much easier it is going to be for the Antichrist to achieve his goals if a North American Union consisting of the United States of America, Canada and Mexico and an African Union (consisting of a walloping 53 nations) align themselves, in some manner, with the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy - the 27-nation strong (and still growing) European Union which the prophesied Antichrist will head in the prophetic future.

Are the rumors of the United States surrendering its sovereignty to become a member of a North American Union true? Could this actually be taking place, as we're hearing, with no congressional oversight whatsoever? If evidence to that effect is out there - and our leaders on Capitol Hill surely can find out - many of them, if they love our nation, need to band together and boldly tell the American people of this threat to our great nation which our fathers and forefathers have stood watch over with a passion that we need to continue to honor in this generation.

If for no reason other than to stay the hand of those who would, willingly or unwittingly, help set the stage for the Antichrist to come to power as prophesied, the Church should be praying against the creation of a North American Union, bringing our globalization concerns before God's throne, from which we know that the restraining power of God over evil flows.
