From what I have read recently, Olmert and Abbas what to have all of the foundation of a peace treaty in place BY the November summit.  Reports of the plan, indicate that most of the west bank will be given back and some undisputed parts of Israel, the Gaza strip will be increased and a "corridor" will connect the West Bank with the Gaza Strip.  This will essentially split Israel and put palestinian guns within 15 miles of Tel Aviv.  I cannot for the life of me see how our God can let this happen and yet still fulfill the prophecies concerning Israel in these days.  Sure He is able to do the impossible, but I believe that a major war is going to break out first.  This war maybe the precursor  to the Gog-Magog war as Syria is not listed as being part of that confederation.  Turkey is part of it, and the news coming from Turkey is that it is beginning to head that direction.

Turkey has taken exception to the fact that the Kurdish rebels (who want an independant kurdistan) in the east have been armed with american weapons.  Turkey is heavily involved as the middleman between Israel and Syria.  Israel may take a pre-emptive strike, Syria might intentionally do something that causes Israel to attack, or the fact that Israel would be forced to drop a Nuke on Damascus (fulfilling Isaiah 17) will further push Turkey to closer ties with Iran.  It doesn't help that the Islamist party gained even more power during the elections held in July and that the European Union keeps putting off Turkey's application for membership into the EU and their stance that Turkey remove their sanctions against Cyprus (a current EU memberstate).  Cyprus is split between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.  There have been peace there the past ten years, but Turkey isn't happy that it had to give up its claim to a portion of it during the peace talks.
