I read with interest Robin’s letter with a prayer request for Ethan.  Many years ago my husband had been on a business trip to Pennsylvania and returned.  A few days later I noticed a round, quarter size rash on his buttocks.  Didn’t think anything about it.  A couple of months later he realized he had been running fever for quite some time.  Went to the doctor, and was prescribed an antibiotic.  That was repeated at least once.  Fever and achiness persisted, but we did Not equate the rash with his symptoms.  We finally found a doctor in September who researched his symptoms, and we discovered that he had Lyme disease.   It is quite unusual in Texas !  Unfortunately he had been a Long time in getting the diagnosis.  If this is what Ethan has, I strongly recommend that he be treated for LYME disease, and the quicker the better!   I might add that Lyme disease can present a problem in diagnosis.  1.  It may or may NOT be accompanied by a rash, which is typically donut shaped, but not always.

2.  The blood tests may or may NOT show the true disease.  

3.  Many times the doctor will have to make the diagnosis on the circumstances at hand.

4.  The treatment is at least 2 weeks of intravenous, high powered treatment with antibiotics.  (Rocephin)

 

In my husbands case, each treatment would find him feeling MUCH better, but within two weeks all of the symptoms return.

Please pray for Ethan,  14 years old.   He has been running a fever on and off for  a couple of months.  It started just as the family was about to move from NC to Colorado .  His doctor would give an antibotic and the fever would go away only to come back in a few weeks.   Since he has been in Colorado (a couple of months),  the fever returned and they found his white blood count to be high, and ordered a CT scan.   They found swollen lymph nodes in his abdomen and are doing some more tests, that might possibly warrant a biopsy.   He is an absolutely precious gift from God,  born weighing only a couple of pounds.  He is just a true light to all he comes in contact with

Please pray that this is not a serious thing like Hodgkins and that it can be easily taken care of - that the Lord will heal this child and do might wonders in his father and mother's life as well.
 

Let's also continue to pray for each other and that the Lord will continue to protect, heal and strenghten each and every one who is going through difficult times in spirit, body and mind.   May the Lord bring healing in every area of all of our lives.
