"“The world was (is) filled with violence”"

Dear friends:

Recently we shared how Jesus said His return would be “as in the days of Noah.”  That probably means many things, but one of them is surely that the book of Genesis reveals that in those days “the world was filled with violence.”

Respected pastor David Wilkerson of The Cross and the Switchboard fame shares about today’s comparable violence in his August 5, 2007 sermon, “In One Hour Everything is Going to Change,” available at http://www.tscnyc.org/sermons.php.  Below is a brief excerpt.

SERMON EXCERPT:

God always moves in judgment -- He always acts -- when the cup of violence overflows.

Now folks, let me speak plainly to you, from the depths of my soul.  I am not a prophet.  I never claimed to be a prophet.  I am a watchman, just one of many.

Listen to me.  There is no greater violence in the sight of God than the violence of pedophiles.  Those who are raping children.  Those who are stealing children off the streets and taking them to the Far East, and putting them in brothels…. And here in the United States, an entire church denomination is paying hundreds of millions of dollars to settle lawsuits because their little children were sodomized.  (Bramlett: a reported $2 billion!)

When you turn to Dafur, you find hundreds and even thousands of little children macheted to death.   When you think of the thousands of babies aborted in the United States and around the world, and that blood cries from the ground.  (Bramlett: some 50 million in the U.S. alone.)

And the Bible says that God destroyed Noah’s days because the earth was filled with violence.  God said, “I can’t take any more.  I will not take it.”  He was patient for 120 years….

Think of the murdering in our schools, the terrorizing of our children…. Are we getting hardened to the news?  Does it not move us anymore?  I can tell you, it moves the heart of God.  I believe that blood cries from the ground. How long will you think God will endure?  How long will you think God will put up with… even here now… on the Internet -- pedophiles taking pictures and telling pedophiles where to go to find the children, where it’s the easiest to pick up a child -- and he’s allowed to do it and can’t be stopped.

Folks, that’s all going to change.  It’s all going to change in one hour!

Wilkerson mentioned children sodomized in church.  I began to think about how homosexuals have infiltrated the Roman Catholic church.  You do not hear about it in the mainstream media because it is not “politically correct” to say anything disparaging about homosexuals.  However, some years ago I read about how they have targeted the RC church and seminaries.  It is no surprise that you do not see that in the news because they want you to think that the pedophile problem is not mainly a homosexual problem.  True, there are heterosexual pedophiles, but I believe the vast majority are homosexuals.

How many priests in the RC church are homosexuals?   Different surveys have been made and the estimates are between 15% and 75%.  Averaging the various surveys results in an estimated one-third of priests as homosexual!  That is an incredible percentage.  See studies at http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_rcc.htm.

Of course, homosexual behavior is not the only sin but it is one that more likely results in sins against children, the subject at hand.  I agree with Wilkerson: This is violence against innocent children.  For this and many other reasons, “the world is filled with violence,” as in Noah’s day.  I do not believe God will allow it much longer.  Jesus is coming.
