"For Sonchild: Praying with you for your job"

Dear Sonchild ( R ) ,

http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/aug2007/sonchild825-1.htm

Since Satan is a robber and a thief ( John 10:10 ) , he comes to take away that which is not his. If he can not take away something from us -- because of God's protection-- then he steals our peace of mind by making us become fearful, anxious and worried over circumstances that may, or may not, occur.

I have found that Satan's first attack upon us is Fear. He puts worry into our mind and we begin to live under the "What if ? " cloud of apprehension. "What if I lose my job?"

Well, I have lived long enough to realize that most things we worry about never come to pass. How true that is !
Even so,  how Satan relishes the fact that he can steal our peace of mind without actually stealing what we were worrying about. It is his main artillery, Fear.

Next, I had a friend tell me once : " OK. paint the picture as black as can be" ... meaning if the worst scenario comes to pass, what then ? Well, by the grace of God a next step will be shown to you, and even so His love and care are never lifted from you : " I will never leave you nor forsake you " Hebrews 13 : 5, 6
"So that we may boldly say," The Lord is my Helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me"

A promise that I love is found in the Philadelphian Church of Revelation 3: 7 .. that God alone opens and closes doors. If the door to your present job is closed, He allowed that For A Purpose.
" All things work together for good to those who love God and are called According To His Purpose ". Romans 8:28.

And if so, then He has an open door for you somewhere else. You will see the wisdom of His plan later on down the road.

Or, He has closed the door concerning the loss of your job, and no one can take your present job from you.

It is hard to understand the ways of the Lord, but we can rest in the fact that He knows best, either way.

In the meantime, you are doing the exact right thing: Praying for your job to remain with you.

There's an old saying :" If you worry, why pray? .... And if you pray, why worry ?"

That saying has helped me a lot.

Finally -- "a perfect love casts out fear" ( 1 John 4:18 ) . As we surrender to the sovereignty of God, nothing can touch our inner peace;
For "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7

We will be praying alongside of your prayers, that your present job remains. And we will pray too that you will have complete confidence in Jesus that He will work out the details.

May you sleep in peace, and may He send you songs in the night.

Your praying friends,
Jim and Angela Goodrick
