"For Mariel : Trusting  and praying"

Dear Mariel,

It is truly a sorrow when one's own child resists the Faith. How good it is of you to try to lead him to the truth. The very fact that he ridicules shows that what you are, is impacting his life.  The old saying is this:
"Throw a stone into a pack of dogs and the one that gets hit will bark."

So your message is getting through.

There are so many people out there today resisting God. I think deep down they want to have God in their life, but they will only surrender when they have to.

I'm sure that  God has included them in His plan too, for perhaps the judgments of God that are already coming upon this world are shaking people :
so that the worthless things -- the vain philosophies of this world, like evolution --
can be shaken, and the solid things of this world can remain." [ Hebrews 12: 27 ]

After the Midnight Rapture takes place and the judgments descend,  then there will be many that repent and come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ ... "a multitude that no man can number". [ Rev. 7 ]
Perhaps that is your son's time to come into the fold.

Being human, we would like to see it in our time. But some people need stronger measures in order to realize truth.
There are different strokes, for different folks.

"For the fiches are not threshed with a threshing instrument,
"Neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cumin;
"But the fiches are beaten out with a staff,
"And the cumin with the rod.

"Bread corn is bruised;
because He will not ever be threshing it,
nor break it with the wheel of His cart,
nor bruise it with His horsemen
."  -- ISAIAH 28: 27, 28 .

We know that God hears and answers our prayers [ 1 John 5: 15, 16 ] . Therefore, we must "hope against hopelessness"  [ Romans 4:18 ] and never give up praying for them on a daily basis.

My brother too is an avid evolutionist-atheist. There is no way to reach him except through God by prayer . So I am committed to praying for his salvation.
"Believe [ trust ] on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou and thy house shall be saved. [ Acts 11:14 and Acts 16: 31 ]
It is  hard to trust when we don't see results, but "blessed are they who believe and yet do not see".
[ John 20:29 ]

 " Men may spurn our appeals,
reject our message,
oppose our arguments,
despise our persons
---
but they are helpless against our prayers "
J. Baxtor

We'll be praying for your entire family's conversion.

Our love and prayers,
Jim and Angela Goodrick
