"Hide and Seek, a prophetic warning"

HIDE AND SEEK
A Prophetic Warning

The greatest tragedies happening today are not in Iraq, nor in Minneapolis, nor in Africa.  They are not even in New Orleans or Aceh--despite the horrendous murders, starvation, deprivation, loss of life, and destruction.  The greatest tragedies happening today are people who are aware they are living in a sin-soaked world ruled by Satan, but who choose to try and live in it without God.

A small boy, wanting to participate in the game "hide and seek" with older children, did not understand the rules.  So thinking he would be hidden if he simply stood where he was and closed his eyes, he did not run behind a tree or a building.  It took him awhile to understand why he was always the first to be discovered...

A child's game--played by adults.

We can understand that the small boy was ignorant.  But what about one who knows what he must do, yet still closes his eyes, thinking the same thoughts: no one can see me?  So many people are like the small boy in regards to God.  He does not see what I am doing because I have pulled down a curtain that hides me.

Adam and Eve sought to hide from God by wearing a leaf to cover their shame.  Could not God find them out?  Nakedness had never before been an issue...but they had made it one by their disobedience.  "Who told you you were naked? " God asked.

Who told you to hide your interest in ponography?  Who told you to sneak away to a foreign country to prey upon children with your sexual fantasies, have secret trysts with homosexuals, commit fornication and adultery?  Cheat, lie, steal?  Who told you? Being found out, coming "out in the open", or even asking "forgiveness" of family or the world does not necessarily remove the fig-leaf you have wrapped around your shame.  They may have seen your nakedness, but what about God?  He saw it before they did.  And unless you see yourself through HIS eyes, you will still walk in darkness.

How did this happen?

It is easy to understand it if you are not a professing Christian; you have not availed yourself to the power of the Cross, been forgiven and regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit.  But it is a perplexing and mysterious thing how lips which have professed their faith in Him and even regularly fellowship with believers, can so easily slip away from light into darkness as if it were only a revolving door.

"They pr0fess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient,
and unto every good work reprobate." (Tit 1:16)

Perhaps it is your wrong perception of God.

You want Him to be the Great Provider to supply your needs, the Great Physician to heal your sicknesses and diseases, to protect and bless you with the promise of heaven, but you reject Him as the Great I AM because he is not welcome to intrude in your private affairs nor your personal decisions.  You want him to make allowances for your willful disobedience and to demand no accountability.  You want to make God into YOUR image and to call it good.  So the eyelids close, and you assume you are hidden from His view.  You do not fear Him.

But He is always there:  He sees a sparrow fall.  He knows our thoughts.  Where can one go to escape Him?  There is no such place in all the universe.

"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.." (Psalm 139:7)

As I watched the horror of the Minnesota bridge collapse, I immediately remembered a vision the Lord had given me years earlier.  In it, I was standing along the banks of the river and I could see that a bridge had given way and was lying in the water below.  I saw the numbers "999" written on one of the structures, the number of judgement. Immediately , I went to the roadway and begin to wave my hands in the air, trying to warn the cars not to proceed--but they ignored me and I watched in horror as they continued up the ramp to the top, where they suddenly realized there was no more highway, and they plunged to certain death.  How this tragedy eerily brought back my vision! Were all those people who perished on that Interstate being judged?  No.  It was a simple vision that showed a picture of what awaited all of us who chose not to heed His warnings and continue down the wrong path.

An urgent message is sounding in the earth: repent quickly while these Words are still a flicker of fire upon your soul. Woe to him who has no more breath to breathe upon the coals, or whose coals have long been extinguished. For you have such little time left to open your eyes and to see where you are standing...

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  (! Peter 4:17)
