Dear John and Doves,Jonathan Stockstill ( Bethany ) asked us if we were real fans. He ran through this list and how I laughed, because I am crazy like that over LSU basketball -- figure skating and etc. After I finished he then asked us: Why can't it be the same way with God? Are you His Fan?So, are you a real fan? See what you think:1. Real Fans -- show up early -- camp out, tail gate, and wait for days in anticipation forthe game. They can't wait for it to start.2.Real Fans: -- know all the stats, plays, and players by heart. They study every little thing they can about the game.3. Real Fans: -- PAY. They pay big bucks for tickets and all sorts of team related stuff soeveryone knows who they support. They leave no doubt.4. Real Fans:-- are Vocal! They scream, shout, yell, jump up and down, paint their facesand are sometimes way over the top. ( And that's before the game!)They are totally "maxed out" for the team.5. Real Fans-- will endure just about every kind of weather there is to see the game. They want to be there. ( Snow, rain, heat.. man, they are prepared --They got Umbrellas, Ice Chests, Snow Gear, ...6. Real Fans-- want the best seat in the house. They can't stand getting a back seat--nose bleed section. They want to see all the action up close.7. Real Fans-- Go to every game they can. Season Tickets? $1,900 with a $300parking fee? No problem. Ever. They Gotta Be There.8. Real Fans-- don't care what time they get home. They stay till the last second.Game over this week? Don't worry, wait till next week!!9. Real Fans-- talk about the game for days afterwards. They live it over and over. ( To the point you are worried about them.)10. Real Fans-- Hang out with other Fans, just to hang out with them, before, duringand after the game.So are you a real fan? Probably so and people know it too!( LSU, sports, music, cooking... whatever.)Well, Sunday in church, Jonathan Stockstill asked the question, "What would church be like if we were Fans like that -- with God?Can you imagine tailgating for a service? Paying big bucks, just to have seat to worship Almighty God? Can you imagine being hours or days early for a game???So, "Are you a Fan of God? Are you one of His?" A Fan will do these things and more...just for a game or for a love of something we love in our lives. Can we be as devoted in the same way to God, the One who gave His all for us?Something to think about! And by the way, I fell wayyyy short on that list... in case you were wondering.Love you,Elizabeth
