"BENJAMIN BARUCH"

THE DAY OF THE LORD IS AT HAND

Does anyone know anything about Benjamin Baruch?  (Lisa Taylor, 28 August)  Is he a genuine or a false prophet?  He states that he had a dream on August 9, 2007 that there would be "five weeks to the destruction of the fortress of imagination."  Afterwards, he checked his calendar and discovered that there was 5 weeks before Rosh Hashanah..something significant is going to happen this September.

Thank you for the link to the radio interview - I listened with considerable interest.  I have previously read an early edition of the Day of the Lord is at Hand - a scintillating read and his understanding of the Word of God was remarkable.  He was clearly shown a vision of four planes before 911.  Yes, he does appear to have a post-tribulation view of the Lord's return and highlights his belief that 'Elijah must come again' to prepare for the Lord's Return, in a similar way to John the Baptist preparing for Jesus' coming.  While many believe that John the Baptist is the Prophet spoken of in Malachi 4:5, John clearly says no in John 1:21.

I do not share Benjamin's post-tribulation view - the seven years is clearly for Israel and the church will be raptured before then.  Of this I am sure.  However, in my 'journey' his book strengthened my understanding of God's purposes for Israel, and I am strongly one who is 'Standing with Israel'.  The book also 'sharpened' my life focus with its emphasis on the remnant, and the importance of being really sold out to God's purposes, and to the cross.

How can we reconcile God's revelation to Benjamin in the face of doctrinal 'error'.  There are two possible answers:  that he has a true piece of the prophetic jigsaw, but has not seen the full picture (the Rapture is, after all, a mystery) and, secondly, that the very strong focus on Israel has opened his eyes to receive.

Now to the radio broadcast and five weeks.  I had a strong witness to what he shared and have been grappling with strong inner 'birth pangs' and from around the time of Rosh Hashanah the world will not be the same again.  He mentioned David Wilkerson having similar revelation of the imminence of God's judgments.  What transpires may still be mystery, but for those of us Who love His appearing the Day of the Lord is at Hand!

A postcript:  I hesitate to write this, but in Australia the TV show 'Californication' has just started.  This is an insult to righteousness (and a reproach to Hollywood) - surely we are a society that strains at a gnat and swallows a camel.  I recommend the following verse in Psalm 125:3 as a prayer 'For the sceptre of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the [once was] righteous, lest the righteous(God's people) stretch forth their hands to INIQUITY AND APOSTASY.'   Maranatha
