"SEVERE heat, "the lamp of
the Lord"!"
SEVERE heat, "the lamp of the Lord"!
ALL:
This morning, between 3 and 4 a.m., I could see flashes (from lightning) at the window and hoped it was a HUGE storm to bring relief to this unbearable heat. Instead, it was just offshore a few miles over the Atlantic from the island where I live. It seems to me that the nation is being "pre" judged prior to going into MAJOR tribulation and is now in a crucible:
Crucible:
http://webster.com/dictionary/crucible
1 : a vessel of a very refractory material (as porcelain) used for melting and calcining a substance that requires a high degree of heat
2 : a severe test
3 : a place or situation in which concentrated forces interact to cause or influence change or development
Right now (4:30 a.m.) the heat index just inshore is 108 degrees and on the island it is 103. What happens when the humidity is VERY high as well as the temperature is that it doesn't allow the moisture on your skin to evaporate quickly and it is VERY uncomfortable and even dangerous, at times.
With ALL this on my mind, I went in and sat down to read my One Year Bible and it fell open to passages from August 7. It fit PERFECTLY the type thoughts that I was having. For instance, is this nation "REALLY" ascribing to the Lord the glory due His Name!? It seems that we are putting "His" goodness and mercy to the test over the land of Israel being given to others. Here is the portion of the August 7 Psalm and Proverb in the One Year Bible:
Psalm 29
A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the LORD strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the LORD shakes the desert;
the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"
10 The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.
Proverbs 20
26 A wise king winnows out the wicked;
he drives the threshing wheel over them.
27 The lamp of the LORD searches the spirit of a man;
it searches out his inmost being.
Romans 11:21 says, "For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either." Therefore, it ALSO seems fitting to WARN THE US just as God told Israel.
...Ezekiel 6
...9 .....I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me,
...and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for
...the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices. 10 And they will know
...that I am the LORD; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.
Another thought was just "HOW MUCH" this nation is NOT watching for the Lord.
The VERY somber and serious tone of this testimony (shared on Rapture Now by
Antmak and, originally, by Trinity on Rapture In The Air) says it ALL! Other than
the Matthew 24 and 25 scriptures (which the young lady mentioned in her testimony)
I thought of "The Parable of the Wedding Banquet":
...Matthew 22
...The Parable of the Wedding Banquet
...1 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:
...2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.
...3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come,
...but they refused to come.
