"Thousands of fish die in Lake Success above Porterville California"

Between 3000 to 5000 fish have died in Lake Success about three miles
above Porterville, California. The Army Corps of Engineers had the county
road crew collect the dead fish along the shoreline and then bury them in
a trench near the north end of the lake. They think it was the low water
level and lack of oxygen that killed the fish, but they are not sure what
killed them. They say that the conditions are better now. They have
drained the lake to its lowest level in preparation for building another
dam below the existing earthen dam. They believe the old dam is not safe
in a big quake. Completion of the new dam is set for 2010. 2010 is the
last year in my timeline: 1998 - 2001 - 2004 - 2007 - 2010. 1776 + 234 =
2010. Do the authorities know something we don't?
