What a nightmare.
Yes it was /is an attack from satan.
But God did deliver you.
David slew Goliath, he too killed the enemy.
Read the stories in the old testament where the israelites had to kill the enemy.
This guy was the enemy and you had no other option.
When the israelites entered the city of Jericho, they were to kill every man, woman and child plus their animals.
That's how God wanted those enemies outrooted.
I'm not saying : go and kill every enemy, but in your case he was an intruder and by the sounds of it he was going to kill you guys, so it was either your family or him .
It was self defense.
Of course you are numb from what happened.
You are still in shock over it.
Don't expect too much of yourself, God understands that.
I will pray for you and your family that God will continue to keep you all safe.
Pray Psalm 91 over yourselves .
