"Ezekiel 1 vision concerning
the lost/12 tribes of Israel"
I've been reading info on the lost tribes.
Then I was reading Ezekiel and that strange vision he had and realized
how much it correlates to the migrations of the lost tribes.
For any of you interestied in researching about the lost
tribes and where they might have ended up and who they might be now, http://www.britam.org/
is a good place to start. I don't agree with all on this site and
would warn against taking this to the extreme, but it's an interesting
study. There is a lot of it out there in cyberspace.
Those who are interested in the study of the gems on
the breast plate might find this information helpful in further studies.
There is info on the web about this, but not enough I think. I know
the tribes each have their own gems and those correlate to the ones in
the foundation of New Jerusalem. If anyone knows of a really good
study on this, pass it along to me (I have read some posts on 5Doves about
this and wish I could find them now).
Ezekiel 1 vision
1:6 - 4 faces and 4 wings each = 12 faces and 12 wings
= 12 tribes of Israel.
1:9 - They went straight forward, to the north (Dan),
the south (Reuben), the east (Judah) the west (Joseph). According
to the Camp of Israel in the wilderness.
1:10 - the beings had faces of a man (Rueben), a lion
(Judah), an ox (Joseph Ephraim/Mannaseh), and an eagle (Dan). Just
like the camp of Israel in the wilderness in which the center tribes of
south, east, west, and north are Rueben, Judah, Joseph, and Dan.
Which is said to be how the tribes generally during migration, and ultimately
ended up geographically. The symbols of Man/Lion/Ox/Eagle are on
the standards or coat of arms for these tribes.
1:11 - The upward wings joined together symbolizes that
they all migrated together (maybe at the same times generally). The
wings covering their bodies symbolizes that they kept their identities
intact. The bodies didn't merge, the wings forbade it. (Although
there was some mixing up of tribes).
1:12 - They were lead by the Holy Spirit.
1:13/14 - Lightening is often a symbol of warfare, which
the tribes were certainly involved with during their immigrations.
1:15-21 - The wheels...wheels are used for transportation,
are they not? Traveling? Isn't that what the lost tribes have
been doing? When the spirit leads, the wheels are lifted up, and
they went, and they stood. The Holy Spirit surely was leading the
lost tribes. Sometimes they were moving around, and sometimes they
were staying put (standing).
1: 23-25 - Kinda the same thing with the wings.
Wings transport - traveling again. When the wings were up, they were
moving, when the wings were down, they were standing, staying put.
Just like the lost tribes did; migrate, settle, migrate, settle.
And above them, in heaven, the voice of the Lord was directing them to
move or stay, just like in the wilderness, only not as a pillar of fire
or smoke this time.
We have mention of gems or the colors of gems...burnished
bronze (red - Judah - Sard?), burning coals of fire (red/black - Dan -
Jacinth?), beryl (white - Joseph - beryl?), and terrible crystal (I don't
know). I know the gems and their colors represent the tribes in the
breastplate and in the New Jerusalem, but I haven't studied this enough
yet. For an interesting study on this, http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/lds/meridian/2005/12stones.html.
1:24 - the noises as of a host. A bunch of people,
like the lost tribes were a bunch of people.
And seen above these creatures was the appearance of
the likeness of the glory of the Lord who then told him to go and speak
with the children of Israel. So there's a definite connection to
the lost tribes one way or another. And perhaps this represents all
12 tribes whether lost or known (as in Judah/Pharez, Benjamin and Levites).
Question: Who did Jesus tell the apostles to go
to? Matt 10:6, But go, rather, to the lost sheep of the house of
Israel.
There was the House of Judah and the House of Israel.
The House of Judah are the Jews, who Jesus Himself went to. Who is
the House of Israel? The 10 lost tribes, lost sheep. There
is a clear distinction throughout scripture. Didn't Jesus say He
wouldn't lose one of his sheep? So, did the apostles do as Jesus
asked or not? Since many died for Him, I would guess that they did
as told. If the lost sheep were just the Jews/Judah, then why did
the apostles go to all the lands they went to instead of just staying in
Jerusalem where most of the Jews were? Who was James writing to in
James 1:1? Or Peter in Peter 1:1? What happened to the lost
sheep/lost 10 tribes?
As a person interested in history, I have noticed that
God has used calamity, whether natural or manmade, to scatter people throughout
the world. If this were not so, we would all be living right near
the Garden of Eden enjoying our comfortable lives. Consider the Irish
Potato Famine in the 1800's as an example. Many immigrated to the
USA. The same thing happened in one form or another throughout Europe
in order to populate the USA/Canada/Australia/New Zealand/South Africa,
etc. Are not these the farthest reaches of the Earth from Jerusalem?
Has this not resulted in the Gospel going to the farthest reaches of the
Earth? If you go any farther West from the USA you will hit the East.
Has not the Gospel been proclaimed in the East now? Consider South
Korea. The Gospel has reached the entire Earth. The little
pockets of people here and there that haven't yet heard the Gospel are
now all a target for Christian missionaries, ...and also from Muslim ones
(we can't forget Satan's plan).
This should give us pause. Maybe even shock and
awe.
As the Gospel has reached the entire world, Satan has
stepped up his plan to undermine the plan of God. Through radical
Islam. I don't think this is a coincidence.
Among all the people of the Earth living at one point
in time, God chose one man, and one man only, to be the father of those
who would be blessed by Him and be a witness for Him throughout all the
Earth for all of time. Abraham. Are not you and I blessed by
God and are a witness for Him? We consider ourselves as Christians
to be so only in a spiritual sense. As grafted in. The billions
of us just a graft.
Abraham had Issac and the blessings went to Issac.
Issac had Jacob/Israel and Esau (who became the Muslim nations I believe),
and Jacob got the birthright blessings. Jacob/Israel had 12 sons
who all got blessings, but the sons of Joseph got the most fruitful and
bountiful ones.
We know that Judah in history went onto to produce Jesus
our Lord and Saviour.
But Joseph and his sons and most of the rest of the tribes
disappear in history after the Assyrian captivity. So what happened
to those fruitful and bountiful blessings? Did they just disappear
also? Did God lie or postpone them until the very last of the last
days? And why did God spend so much time in the scriptures talking
to the House of Israel, which are the lost sheep of the tribes of Israel,
if they did not exist or just evaporated and dissolved into other peoples?
If one studies the history of the world, it becomes clear
that Europe became the light and leader of the world and was blessed, and
that this condition eventually found it's way into the nation of (many)
50 states, the USA, and other Western Civilization nations. We have
the Western world nations, and then we have the 3rd world nations.
What is the defining difference between them? Christianity.
Which nations are the most blessed? Christian nations. Which
nations of the world have been the missionaries and leaders of nations?
Christian ones. Plus the nation of current day Israel, the Jews,
one of the tribes of Israel. Christians and Jews, the people of The
Book. Who the whole 3rd world nations hate. Doesn't stop them
from trying to get into those nations though, does it?
Who are God's witnesses? I believe there are 2
of them. The house of Judah, the Jews, and the house of Israel, now
the Christians. The people of The Book. That is what the Muslims
call us, Jews and Christians are the people of the Book. They hate
us and think the birthright is theirs and they want it back. Like
Esau wanted to kill Jacob, the Muslims want to kill us and take our blessings
and birthright. But just like in the Bible, God is not going to allow
that to happen. This is something we can know for sure and have peace
in our hearts about. There may be the shedding of blood, wars, famine,
and calamities, but God will see His people through to the end. Of
that I am sure.
Why do I think the House of Israel are Christians?
If you take the time to study the dispersion and immigrations of the 10
lost tribes (which also included members of the not lost tribes), you will
see that they settled in and then migrated from nations that were/are Christian
nations. I also do not believe that one word Jesus spoke did not
come to pass. He told the apostles to go to the lost sheep/tribes
of Israel and I have studied that they did. All of us here today
on the 5Doves site are a witness to that fact.
For those who believe that the 10 lost tribes came back
to Jerusalem when the Judah tribe was returned from the Babylonian captivity...tell
me why Jesus went on about the lost tribes that were scattered abroad?
They were either there in Israel or they weren't. If they were there,
why did the apostles travel far and wide to witness to them?
Read Hosea again. God said He was going to scatter
the House of Israel into the world like a farmer throws and scatters seed.
And there they would become His witnesses, His people, who would worship
Him as the living God.
Who is the "living" God? God, our Father is only
considered to be "alive" by Jews, Christians and Muslims. The rest
worship dead gods or imaginations of gods. But only one religion
has a God who was actually ALIVE on this Earth and who still lives because
of being resurrected and that is Jesus.
Jesus is the only God who is a "living God". So
Hosea is talking about Christians who don't know they are of the House
of Israel. Part of the 12 tribes of Jacob/Israel. Remember,
God chose Abraham to be the father of many nations. That's plural...nations.
Judah, current day Israel is only one nation. The rest of the Western
nations are part of Abraham and the blessings God gave to his offspring.
Physically, not just spiritually. Esau nations are the Muslim nations
physically, not just spiritually. This is all real and continuous.
God didn't pause history for His blessings to take place,
they have taken place throughout HiStory. Name me a more blessed
nation, a more powerful nation, a more Christian nation than the USA.
Did this happen by accident? And how about the British Isles?
How does one explain their prosperity and acclamations in history apart
from God's blessings?
One has to look at the promised blessings to Joseph and
see the results of the same kinds of blessings in the major Western nations
that have been a light and a help to the entire world. A witness.
A coincidence?
I think that all of us Christians owe it to ourselves
to look into these matters about the lost tribes of Israel possibly being
us. It should not lead to feelings of superiority but rather to humility
and gratefulness to Him who has minutely arranged us where He wanted us
to be in the first place.
Consider one more thing. When Jacob was under the
burden of his uncle Laban, he figured out how to cull out the spotted and
striped cattle from the others. If Jacob could figure this out somehow
with a rod, then God can surely figure out how to cull out His people also
and place them where He wants them to be.
Wherever you are, it's where God wants you to be.
This should give you peace and comfort.
And if we Christians are part of the lost tribe of the
House of Israel, then we surely ought to be about supporting the House
of Judah, the Jews, for they are our kin, the son's of Abraham also.
I don't know how each one of us should go about doing this, but I trust
that God will show each one of us a way. One day the stick of Joseph
and the stick of Judah will merge. I think that today would be a
good time to start this.
