I have previously heard that the Psalms contained prophecy concerning the end times but dismissed that "theory" because there are 150 Psalms and that would take us to 2050 and I have never thought based on what I seen these past 50 years that it would take Jesus that long to return. When Pastor Riley made his "prediction" in June that war would break out in the middle east in 2006 (based on his reading of Psalm 106) and then 2 days later war breaks out that caught my attention.I like Pastor Riley and have read his newsletter for the past several years but feared he was about to become another false prophet.
I have re-read through the Psalms and these are some brief observations.
If you read through Psalms 35-44 you can see the activities of the Nazi's and the persecution of the Jews.
The Psalms take a distinct and dramatic change in tone at Psalm 110.... Psalm 110 is Revelation 19 when Jesus comes and destroys Satan and establishes His Kingdom. This Psalm is followed by three straight Psalms (years) of Praise.
Starting with Psalm 144 the final 7 Psalms are Psalms of Praise.
So, if the theory about Psalms is correct then Jesus should return in 2010 to fulfill Revelation 19.
John has more detailed studies of individual Psalms on this website.
