"A call for prayer...."
Dear John and Doves,
I would like to request prayer for my fiance' Eddie, and his mother Rachel.
I'm constantly telling Eddie that Christ is coming back, and SOON!!!! As
an unbeliever he thinks i'm crazy. Well I can't say he's an unbeliever
he does believe in God, and the bible, but he's not a Christian, and he
doesn't take the bible literally, and he says God could come back tomorrow
or a thousand years from now. This has caused MANY disagreements between
us mostly due to the fact that I do take the word of God literally. I believe
that not only are we in the end times, but we are in the latter phase on
the end times. I constantly have an urgency in my soul to try to show my
family, and friends that we're almost out of time. This brings me to my
mother in law Rachel. Eddie has told me that growing up that his family
attended church, and that both of his parents we're saved. Many of our
disagreements have centered on things his parents "taught" him growing
up. He'll come out of left field with a quote from scripture that i've
never heard before, and use that as a point of contention in our disagreements.
An example of this would be: He'll tell me that he was taught that in heaven
we will not know our brother as our brother. I was always taught that we
will know our loved ones in heaven not only know them, but that they will
greet us upon our arrival home. I've tried to find scripture to validate
both of our views, unfortunately i'm not well educated in scripture not
enough to find specific scriptures. Another thing about Eddie is he has
great reverence for the bible which he credits his mother for. Example
of this is that he will freak out if anyone lays anything on top of a bible.
He's told me his mother taught him to respect the bible, and laying anything
on it is disrespectful. Now I can agree with this simply because I respect
the bible, but I must be honest when I say I never thought about it being
disrespectful if I laid something on top of one. All of this is to say
this. Our last visit to his parents who live out of state brought some
insight into his mother's views of both the bible, and her walk with Jesus.
During our visit the subject of laying things on top of a bible came up.
Eddie was telling his mother that he still doesn't lay things on top of
a bible because it's disrespectful, and that she taught him that. His mother
in turn responded by saying that she didn't remember saying that, but even
if she did the bible is just a book. Just a book?! That statement blew
me away simply because as a Christian i've never thought of the bible as
just a book! These are just a couple of many examples I could give you,
but I wanted you all to have an idea of what the situation is. I try to
tell Eddie about the coming of Christ, and that we're the final generation,
and all the signs that are occuring, and that we're almost out of time.
He falls back on teachings he heard as a child from someone i'm not even
sure of is truly saved, but since it came from his mother he takes it as
truth. How do you try to teach ( lead ) someone to the biblical truths
if the person they learned their biblical truths from is mislead themselves?
None of us can say whether or not someone is saved that is between them,
and our Lord. However the bible also tells us we shall know them by their
fruits. I sent a fw yesterday to the video of the rapture that I posted
here on fivedoves today to everybody on my list because Jesus is coming
any minute we're out of time, and i'm trying to warn them before Christ
comes and they are left behind. I recieved an email from his mother today
regarding this fw, and I wanted to post this here so that my fellow Christians
could read it, and maybe give me feedback in how to handle this situation.
As I said before it's not for us to judge a person, nor can we know a persons
standing with Jesus Christ, but i'm concerned for the salvation of not
only my fiance' Eddie, but also his mother Rachel. I'm far from living
the way I should, and I pray daily that God will lead me in my daily life,
and forgive me when I fail him, but i'm still watching daily for Jesus'
return, and i'm warning people of his imminent return for us. Please pray
for these two people Doves that the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ will
shine upon their hearts, and that they'll accept Christ truths before it's
too late this side of the rapture. Yes all signs that are occuring these
days have always happened there's nothing new under the sun, but never
have they all occured so frequently, and together Christ is not only at
the door the knobs turning!
your Sister in Christ,
Kristy
Below is the email I recieved from my mother in law Rachel:
Whatever this mail was I couldn't open it. I think you
need to get a life. There is nothing you can do about this but be ready
to go the best you know how. Stressing over it will get you there
sooner .Your kids will do that for you well enough and there is nothing
you can do about that either. Please don't get caught up in a cult and I
believe that is what you have got yourself into..Keep your hands
and your heart busy with something productive and you will get yourself
though this world alive after all.Live by the ten commandments the best
you can, you are only human you know, and muddle thourgh .Take care of
home and hearth first and if you have any strenth left after that tackel
something else. Good luck. Have a great day. LOVE MOM
