Science: Earth Was Under Water #393

Geology apparently began during the late 1600’s AD when Nicholas Steno added the study of mountain rocks with fossils to his regular studies of animal anatomy. He published the first known book about geology. This developed interest in other people.
More than two hundred years later, in 1885 AD, Edward Suess published a study which established the relationship of the geology of different countries. He discovered that all land, even mountain tops, had been under water.
The Bible tells us in the first part of the first chapter of Genesis about our planet being covered with water. One of those verses, Genesis 1:9, says, “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so.” Moses wrote this three and one-half thousand years ago. Nicholas Steno and Edward Suess did not discover water covered Earth. Moses did. The other two only discovered supporting evidence.
In the seventh chapter of Genesis, Moses wrote about water covering everything a second time when Noah lived. Our textbooks leave out many facts about this subject (see link below). Equally as amazing as the information Moses gave us is the detail King David added five hundred years later (still three thousand years ago) when he said in Psalms 104:6-9 “Thou didst cover it with the deep [common term then for ocean water] as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains. At Thy rebuke they fled; At the sound of Thy thunder they hurried away. The mountains rose; the valleys sank down to the place which Thou didst establish for them. Thou didst set a boundary that they may not pass over; That they may not return to cover the earth.”
How did these simple people know this 3000 years before
science even began to understand it? The only answer can be as they said;
God told them.
