He is a real African American with no hyphen. He came here from Africa and has become a U.S. citizen, so he is both. You can tell by his name. I met him in a hospital after he died.
 
Kokouvi had been swimming in a city swimming pool, but was missing for approximately fifteen minutes. You guessed it; they found him on the bottom of the deep end. Lifeguard CPR (they failed again), city fire department rescue squad (they resuscitated him, but he was still unconscious), and hospital followed.
 
I visited him there two days later. He was not allowed visitors, but my thick Knaves Topical Bible and Comparative Study Bible (four translations printed parallel) and a clipboard made me look like a pastor. They didn’t ask. They just let me visit.
 
He had not wanted to talk much to anyone. I introduced myself and asked him how he felt. He answered with only a very few words and those were in a monotone. My other comments and questions did not get much response either. I asked what happened to him during the time his body was dead. His reply was: “I saw people, but I don’t want to talk about it.”  That was more than he had told anyone else.
 
I then told him I came to show him in The Word of God (The Bible) the answers to his questions. Next I told him that my body had died in a hospital and I knew he wasn’t dead while his body was. He gladly talked to me. The nurses were surprised and pleased that he became alert and talked and talked.
 
Here was a new CHRISTian who understood his need for saving grace and that JESUS provided the help he needed. He did not know much more about The Bible, but that was enough for his salvation. He knew nothing about near death experiences or about clinical death. He knew nothing about Heaven and Hell except that they existed. He thought Paradise was the same as Heaven.
 
Even with practically no knowledge of the subject, Kokouvi told the same story that other CHRISTians have told when their bodies died.
 
BIBLE VERSE ABOUT THIS:
John  5: 21 “Just as The Father raises up the dead and gives them life - that is makes them live on - so also The Son also gives life to whomever He wills and is pleased to give it to.”
You have probably never heard this verse before because your preacher or minister or priest or pastor could not explain it to you. I can explain it because it is simple; it means exactly what it says. Read it again. Father YAHWEH and Son JESUS can raise up dead bodies.
