Its a sad thing, and it seems so obvious to an outsider, that bitterness cripples so many of us who have been Christian for a while. How subtle and self serving it is. How well it defends itself with scripture. Yet the heart is not right and the peace of the heart is destroyed. How we hate to give up our right to be angry. How we can not seem to stop entertaining destructive thought indulgances. Covering them up with a dirty cloth by religous obligation and business. When will we ever get over it? When will we ever yeild to the Holy Spirit?
