"THE MYSTERIOUS TIMING OF
MEL-CHIZ'E-DEK AND THE DAY OF THE LORD PART ONE"
THE MYSTERIOUS TIMING OF MEL-CHIZ'E-DEK AND THE DAY OF
THE LORD PART ONE
It is of great joy for me to explain to an audience of
readers that Mel-chiz'e-dek is mentioned in Psalm 110:4. As I carefully
read through the Psalms and their prophetic implication I came to two conclusions. There
is no doubt in my mind that Psalm 110 is a Servant Candle Psalm. A Jewish
Menorah has 7 candlesticks and Jesus Christ is always represented by the
forth. In the 5th part of this series I will explain why Psalm 110 is the
4th book out of a set of seven. (2) If that were not enough in Psalm 110
there are 7 verses and guess where Mel-chiz'e-dek is spoken of in this
chapter? Verse 4.I will explain in this set of Psalms that there is a Servant
Candle within a Servant Candle in Psalm 110:4.This particular Psalm describes
the middle of the 7 year Tribulation Period. The question is what about
the year 2010? Is this the middle of the Tribulation Period? Let's find
out but first let me give you some simple background regarding Mel-chiz'e-dek.You
may just come to the same conclusion that I came to regarding this subject.
An outline for the Rapture,Day of the Lord and Millennial Reign is actually
laid out in the Book of Genesis and the Psalms. In this simple 5 part series
I came to one conclusion. The Return of the Lord is very close.
As I was reviewing the life of Abram I thought this was
just going to be some practical study and at the same time maybe exhort
some people. That's great but the Providence of God had something bigger
in mind-something prophetic to show me.When I studied Genesis chapter 11
I saw that Abram's conversion in chapter 11 prophetically represented people
in this Age of Grace being converted to Jesus Christ. Eleven is the number
of confusion. It is pretty obvious that in today's World people are coming
to know the Lord in a place of confusion. The tower of Babel was being built
in chapter 11. As people through the furtherance of the Gospel accept Jesus
Christ into their heart as their personal Savior in this age of grace (confusion)
the tower of Babel is being built (New World Order). The two are happening
at the same time just as the model shows under the canopy of chapter 11.When
the reader arrives at chapter 12 Abram's growth,trials;refinement process,temporary
seizure of the devil, and his redemption (Rapture) are shown.Prophetically
this describes the Believer's journey after he gets saved all under the
canopy of chapter 12 (God's Governmental Perfection) meaning that our lives
as Christians are under God's Sovereignty or His Providential care no matter
what happens to us.His redemption took place in verse 20 (the very number
of Redemption)which symbolizes the Church's Rapture into Heaven. In chapter
13 His reunion after the Rapture,(Redemption) inheritance and worship experience
is depicted as the Day of the Lord is taking place simultaneously on Planet
Earth (chapter 13;Apostasy).In Genesis chapter 11 people are getting
converted in this Age of Grace. In Genesis chapter 13, the World has progressed
into a new dispensation. The Day of the Lord has now arrived (chapter 13).
At the time of this writing that time period has not yet come upon the
World.
I wrote about this and of course I really hate to repeat
myself but I thought prophetically that I was done.Nothing could have been
further from the truth.I kept reading and sure enough Mel-chiz'e-dek comes
into the picture in Genesis chapter 14. Prophetically God is now taking
the reader to the middle of the 7 year Tribulation Period and into the
1000 year Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ. Now I'm asking myself a question.
Does this text compare to other passages in Scripture regarding Mel-chiz'e-dek?
Are there clues as to when the Day of the Lord will start and the beginning
of the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ? I believe the answer is yes.The
juxtapostioning of the chapter numbers, verses, the sequence of the Psalms, the
help of the book of Hebrews, and Zechariah paint a distinct picture. You
see the first time Mel-chiz'e-dek is even mentioned is in Genesis 14:18-20.The
next time Mel-chiz'e-dek is spoken of is in Psalm 110:4. The Psalms are
prophetic. For example Psalm 48 corresponding to 1948,Psalm 91 corresponding
to the year 1991 or Psalm 110 corresponding to 2010. The timing is not
necessarily exact but I can assure you this is just another subject indicating
just how close we are to the Lord's Return. The book of Zechariah helped
me piece the clues together along with Hebrews making the subject even
more clear. Who is Mel-chiz'e-dek? Putting all four books together the
Holy Spirit showed me some very interesting things which includes just
how very close we are to the Lord's Return without setting a date. This
is good news because I don't think we are going to have much longer to
wait. The Rapture is right around the corner.
Let me first speak in general terms about the prophetic
implications of the story or model in Genesis 14:18- 24. It is so simple
that I truly believe a young child will able to understand what I am trying
to portray.Mel-chiz'e-dek is spoken of in Genesis 14:16-18. His name means
my King is Righteous. There will be two overriding Attributes of Jesus
Christ in his future 1000 year Millennial Reign (His Kingship and His Priesthood).
His Righteousness speaks of both. He was the king of Sa'lem. Empathies
(King). Sa'lem was the city of Jerusalem in that day.In the future reign
of Jesus Christ He will rule from Jerusalem. This verse is a foreshadowing
of what Jesus Christ is destined for in this Glorious time period. Not only
is His Kingship foretold in this verse but He "brought forth bread and
wine." This represents His Priesthood. He was and is (Jesus Christ) a Priest
of the Most High God. Verse 19 talks about "the Most High God possessor
of heaven and earth." We as His children are joint heirs of Jesus Christ
so we will share heaven and earth with our Messiah during His Millennial
Reign. Verse 20 talks about Jesus Christ delivering "thine enemies into
thy hand." Shades of Armageddon and the Millennium. Notice this perfect
and complete description of Jesus Christ in His future Reign and the object
devotion that Abram is giving Him.
In Genesis 14:21-24 another King comes into the picture.
Now this is interesting. You have to follow me on this. The king of Sod'om
(who symbolizes an evil rule) asked Abram if he would take the goods of
the war.The king wanted the persons but offered the goods.Of course Abram
was not going to take the goods because he was not going to take credit
for what God accomplished through him. Prophetically in Matthew 25 Jesus
Christ Himself separates the sheep and goat nations. The righteous go to
Jesus Christ, the unrighteous go to the devil. If Abram accepted the goods
he would be sharing the Glory that is due to Jesus Christ. You see prophetically
in Jesus Christ's Reign,He will be sole Ruler from the city of Jerusalem.Do
you see the correlation from the model of Genesis chapter 14? Mel-chiz'e-dek
was the "King" of Sa'lem or Jerusalem with perfect Righteousness as King
of Kings and Lord of Lords. His Priesthood will be instituted on Planet
Earth in His Millennial Reign without competition from any evil King. What
I am trying to say is the moral or meaning of this story or model is there
were two Kings. One represented evil (the king of Sod'om) and he was shunned, pushed
to the side as it were. The King of Sa'lem (Jerusalem) who was Mel-chiz'e-dek
exercised His Kingship and Priesthood. He was given honor and respect. Obviously
this is a picture of Y'shua's (Jesus Christ) future Reign and Rule. No
other evil king will share His Glory. In Hebrews 5:6 "As He saith also
in another place, thou art a Priest forever after the order of Mel-chiz'e-dek."
His Kingship (King of Kings and Lord of Lords) and His Priesthood is pictured
in Genesis chapter 14 which is the very number of Deliverance or Salvation.
Incredible! Notice how God is now progressing the reader into the 1000
year Millennial Reign and Rule of Jesus Christ.
Clearly this model in Genesis chapter 14 describes this
future Reign of our Messiah Jesus Christ perfectly. Before this happens
the Christians are going to have a wonderful reunion in heaven at the Rapture
of the Church. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ the only way to
get saved is through Him.It is also the only way to be a part of the Blessed
Hope (Rapture) which will be a glorious event beyond description.Unfortunately
after the Day of the Lord starts (after the Rapture) this will be a horrible
time period. Then when Jesus Christ Returns in all of His Glory His Reign
will start and it will last for 1000 years. In this World of glum and doom
if you can't see the hope in His Majesty you are probably not looking.I
know I am. I can hardly wait for the Lord's coming!!! This event
will not be prolonged too much longer. This is man's only true hope.
