I know of no other human who could
experience what you guys have just experienced and NOT HAVE bad dreams.
Even though you & your husband are both retired police officers &
likely encountered these things on many routine days, still this was different
-- this was an out & out attack where even moments made a difference for
the sheer protection of your family!! It is purely amazing
that none of you were killed, and we thank God for His protection on you!
So many times I know for a fact
He has protected us, and I figure there are many, many other times He has
protected us -- without our even being aware!! ie. maybe a dead
battery in the car is no reason to get frustrated, perhaps He is protecting
us from a horrible accident on down the road. But I'm getting off course
here.
I pray you will overcome feeling
that you've been "forcibly stopped" in your Christian witness.... it
will take some time! That's all there is to it. There is a season
for EVERYTHING under heaven, and now is the time for you to merely take time
to sift & sort through this nightmarish experience. Give yourself
the gift of time. Be patient with yourself, and with your family, as
everyone needs time to recuperate & catch your breaths after this.
I honestly cannot imagine going
through this. BE PREPARED, cause I've heard in such strenuous &
stressful experiences, the devil (OUR ENEMY) will do his best to bring "depression"
upon your souls as well.... he may attack in your thinking of all the possible
"what if's" that could have happened. {well, he already is; so now just
get that Spiritual Armor ON & keep it on!!}
I pray Jesus comes SOON!!!
And I pray that you will remain steadfast until He does. You do not
have an obligation to be a loud Christian, but merely to abide in the Vine
(that's pretty easy though -- just HANG ON to THEEE Vine!)
Perhaps in the days to come, you
can find a way to turn this experience into a ministry, by sharing with other
Doves ways to try to be safe, in such an unsafe world.
I pray you will be able to sleep
soundly without the recurring nightmares. I am sorry for your tragedy,
but sooo glad that it wasn't far, far worse. Join me in giving
thanks for all the "could haves" that could have happened -- but didn't. We
have so many reasons to praise Him forever!
Please look up & experience
HIS peace, just in the few (hopefully) final days we have left here.
Maranatha! ~ may Jesus come SOON!
