Dear Jim,

Your thoughts about the rapture and the Lord’s wrath occurring simultaneously are correct. This is something I have believed for a very long time now.

The bible tells us that we believers are “not appointed unto wrath” but unto righteousness. What is an appointment? It is a designation or arrangement. It happens at a specific place and a specific time. If we do not know the specific place or time of this appointment and the Lord does, is it not safe to assume that he will rapture us away to our appointment with righteousness? 

Some years ago, I had some kind of daydream or mental picture. I really felt a moment of realization. In my mind I heard the air raid sirens blaring. I somehow knew this meant a nuclear attack was underway. As the missiles were seconds away from detonation, I saw myself shoot up into the clouds (and I felt nothing-no wind, no pain, no sound). Obviously I had an appointment elsewhere and missed out on the mushroom clouds.

What was interesting was the sirens…….it made me think of the last trumpet (and believe me, everyone I saw around me in this daydream heard it).

Another interesting thought…would this explain the disappearance of millions of born again believers? That we simply were vaporized in the nuclear holocaust?

I personally felt that day the Lord may have been “illustrating” to me that I need to be right with him and not face his wrath, because his wrath will come very quick.

“…and all men, both small and great, hid into the ground, and asked the rocks to fall on them and hid them. For the day of the Lord’s wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?”

Jim, you also mentioned a meteor impact as another possibility for sudden wrath. This will definitely occur too!

The Bible specifically mentions in Revelation that both a comet object and meteor object will impact. One will hit the ocean and one will hit a large river. It also mentions a large scale meteor shower (all the stars falling). In fact, the effects of these events will be so great, that many of the other judgments are directly associated with the atmospheric changes caused by the impacts. Some of these changes are the following….the blackened sun, the moon turning to blood, large hailstones, extremely severe weather, a third of the earth burned (trees and fields), poisoned water, large scale human, animal, and marine animal deaths, shipping and economics ruined, drought, famine, etc.

All of this will happen during the tribulation, not before. In fact, these events seem to start near the end of the seal judgements and mostly happen during the bowl judgements (if memory serves).

I have had at least four vivid dreams about the celestial impacts of earth. These dreams were some of the most powerful, intense, and realistic dreams I have ever experienced. They occurred during the years of 1996 through 1998. I believe I posted some of them around 1998 on the Five Doves. I do not have time right now to repeat them, but let me say two things that occurred 1. I saw utter fear, hopeless, or indifference in the faces of many people. 2. I “felt a gnawing hunger pain and saw the beginnings of famine and madness.

Friends, we are definitely approaching the threshold of endtime fulfillments. I pray everyone will find their peace with Christ as redeemer. Let us not miss our “appointment”.
