Many of our listeners have been asking questions concerning the so-called "disengagement plan" of Prime Minister Sharon. What difference will it make if 21 Jewish communities are uprooted out of the Gaza Strip? Are there more of these removals being planned? What is really going on in Israel? Here are the facts as we now know them:
1. 100% of the entire Gaza Strip will be evacuated and handed over to the Palestinian Authority.

2. 300 square miles of Samaria will be evacuated.

3. 21 Jewish communities will be removed from the Gaza Strip.

4. Approximately 9000 Israelis (1700 families) will be removed from the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria.

5. 38 synagogues will be dismantled.

6. 5000 school-age children will need to find new schools.

7. 42 daycare centers will be closed.

8. 36 kindergartens will be closed.

9. 7 elementary schools will be closed.

10. 3 high schools will be closed.

11. The government is constructing 320 mobile homes as temporary housing with another 300 ordered for the future.

12. 45,000 soldiers and police will participate in the Gaza withdrawal alone.

13. Estimates now running near two billion dollars for the complete withdrawal plan.

14. 155 farmers will be moved out of Gaza.

15. 800 cows (second largest dairy farm in Israel) will be moved.

16. 120 million dollars in flowers and produce will be lost (each year).

17. 10,000 people employed in agriculture (including 5000 Palestinians) will need to find employment.

18. 60% of Israel's cherry tomoto exports will be lost.

19. 1000 greenhouse will be abandoned in Gaza.

20. 70% of Israel's organiz produce will be lost.

21. 60% of herbs exported come from Gush Katif.

22. Nearly one billion dollars will be necessary to resettled and relocate the Jewish families being uprooted.

23. A deep water naval port has been approved, making it a future "pipeline" of weapons and components to use against Israel.

24. The Egyptian army will not "guard" the "Philadelphia" route - no tunnels will be needed - just bring the weapons and drugs over land!

In addition to all of this, 820,000 Jewish refugees who were forced to flee without their belongings from Arab countries between 1947 and 1949 will still have no compensation for their losses from Arab governments.

The government has distributed containers to the residents of Gaza to start packing their things - and get ready for the removal which will begin on August 14th at night and be completed by August 17th - Please pray!
