"Left Behind"

Dear brothers and sisters,

I have wondered lately about the Left Behind series.  I have seen the “Left Behind Letters” that we are supposed to leave for loved ones that do not go with us when the Lord returns.  I read the scriptures in II Thess. and it talks about those not receiving the truth so that they may be saved, and that God will send a strong delusion that they should believe a lie.  I interpret this scripture to say that those that have had the gospel handed to them on a silver platter and have been inundated with it but have rejected will fall into great deception.  I believe that we so much want our loved ones and friends to know the Lord that we are really hoping that this scripture isn’t saying what it is saying.  I believe that those that reject now when it is easier to believe, (I hate putting it that way, because our brothers and sisters all over the world are suffering for Him) will fall into great deception.  The books and movies “Left Behind” have probably saved many souls, opening the eyes of the blind to see.  I likewise believe that many more are thinking they can live through that time period because of what they see in the movies and books and will decide to wait it out, have their fun now and then turn later.  I could be dead wrong, but this is what I think.  Why have the books been accepted by the mainstream so easily?  Could it be that they are part of the deception?
