Re: "The sudden destruction and the rapture"
Jim Bramlett (23 Aug 2005)Hi:
Thanks for the interesting information, Jim.
In your post, Dr. Adrian Rogers said:
> > In Noah’s and Lot’s day, judgment came swiftly and with no notice, except to Noah and Lot and their families, whom God delivered just in time. He took them out, types of the rapture.I think Noah's day is a type of the Pre-Trib Rapture, and Lot's day is a type of the Pre-Wrath Rapture. Marrying is mentioned in Noah's day, because the first Rapture is of the Bride of Christ. Marrying is NOT mentioned in Lot's day, because only the 144,000 Israelites will be added to the Bride group.
Rev. 5:8-10 says of the Pre-Trib-Rapture "saints....they sung a NEW SONG, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book (the Title Deed of the Earth), and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast (past tense, i.e., hast already) redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast (past tense) made us unto our Go! d kings and priests: and we shall (future tense) reign on (epi, over) the earth."
In Rev. 14:3-5, only the 144,000 Pre-Wrath-Rapture saints can sing "as it were a NEW SONG...and no man could learn THAT SONG but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed FROM THE EARTH." They are "VIRGINS...WITHOUT FAULT before the throne of God."
On the Day of Christ, the wise virgins will be caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Trib Rapture. On the Day of the Lord, the foolish virgins will be caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Wrath Rapture, but they will not be part of the Bride group. They will be part of the "great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues" that will come "out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God" (Rev. 7:9-15).
> > But what about us?
> > "But you, brothers, are not in darkne! ss so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness"...(1 Thessalonians 5:4-11), NIV).AN IMPORTANT CLUE: We, the wise-virgin believers, including Paul, are NOT of the DARKNESS.
That's important, because on the Feast of Trumpets at the end of the shortened Tribulation, the Tribulation saints are caught up AFTER THE DAY OF DARKNESS HAS ALREADY BEGUN.
Joel 2:12 (KJV) says, "Blow ye the TRUMPET in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the DAY OF THE LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A DAY OF DARKNESS and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of THICK DARKNESS, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong (Gog's army is attacking Israel); there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations."
Zeph 1:14-16 says, "The great DAY OF THE LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even ! the voice of the DAY OF THE LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a DAY OF WRATH, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a DAY OF DARKNESS and gloominess, a day of clouds and THICK DARKNESS, A day of the TRUMPET and alarm".
Amos 5:18,20 says, "Woe unto you that desire the DAY OF THE LORD! to what end is it for you? the DAY OF THE LORD IS DARKNESS, and not light....Shall not the DAY OF THE LORD be DARKNESS, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?"
Joel 2:31 says, "The sun shall be turned into DARKNESS, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the great and the terrible DAY OF THE LORD come."
Act 2:20 says, "The sun shall be turned into DARKNESS, and the moon into blood, BEFORE that great and notable DAY OF THE LORD come.
After the 6th seal is broken on the Eve of Trumpets, the darkness begins. The "sun became BLACK as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood" (Rev. 6:12). At 6 PM, "THE ! GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME" (Rev. 6:17).
Before the 7th sea l is broken in Rev. 8:1, the Pre-Wrath Rapture takes place (Rev. 7:14).
Why then? because believers "are not of the night, nor of darkness" (I Thess. 5:5). It is time to be caught up to Heaven at the "last trump" of God (I Cor. 15:51-53).
This is not the 7th trumpet. The 7th seal has not yet been broken, out of which the 7 trumpet judgments come. The 1st trumpet judgment has not yet sounded, let alone the 7th.
This trump is the "last trump" of the two silver trumpets God uses to call his saints home. The first "trump of God" is at the first Rapture (I Thess. 4:16). The sounding again of the first trumpet calls the saints in Heaven to the General Assembly. The "last trump" of God is at the second Rapture. It calls the saints on Earth to the General Assembly in Heaven (Heb. 12:23).
Num 10:1-4 says, "the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them (plural, i.e., bot! h) for the CALLING OF THE ASSEMBLY, and for the journeying of the camps. And when they shall blow with them (both), ALL THE ASSEMBLY SHALL ASSEMBLE themselves to thee at the DOOR of the tabernacle of the congregation. And IF THEY BLOW BUT WITH ONE TRUMPET, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel (i.e., the patriarchs of Israel and the 12 apostles of Israel, the 24 elders of Rev. 4:4), shall gather themselves unto thee."
Mt 24:31 says, "he shall send his angels with a great sound of A TRUMPET, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of HEAVEN to the other."
Mark 13:27 says, "And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH (the Pre-Wrath Rapture)to the uttermost part of HEAVEN."
II Peter 3:10 says, "the DAY OF THE LORD WILL come as a thief IN THE NIGHT; in the which the heavens (the atmosphere) shall pass away with a gr! eat noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth al so and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
Rev 8:12 says, "the fourth angel sounded (the 4th trumpet judgment), and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was DARKENED, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise."
Right now, we are waiting for the first "trump of God" (I Thess. 4:16) to sound to catch us up meet the Lord in the air. I'm so thankful that we are "not of the night, nor of darkness" (I Thess. 5:5).
