Hello Doves,Once again, as we are all experiencing, an outpouring of the Holy Spirit has hit me---Shhhh! While I am at work---Hey I'm working---For the Lord!! Anyhoo....
Here's another study I have gleaned...
The month of Elul (Rosh Chodesh September-4-5---October 3, 2005)
* study material gotten from www.kolel.org/pages/holidays --no author mentioned.
* study material gotten from www.pilologos.org/bpr/files/jewish_feasts --no author mentionedElul is a Babylonian word and appears first in Hebrew scripture in Nehemiah 6:15. It is the sixth month of the year if you begin with Nisan or the twelfth if you count from Tishrei. The word Elul is said to be an acronym of Ani l'dodi v'doddi li- "I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine." from Song of Songs 6:3---Marilyn Agee has a beautiful study on the rapture language in Solomon's Song of Songs on her website---check it out and you will see the connection-- www.prophecycorner.com/agee/index.html
In the Aramaic language, which was spoken by the Jewish people at the time that the names of the months were set, the word Elul means "search." Okay are we not searching for "THE BLESSED HOPE"??Elul is a significant period of Teshuvah (repentence) because this is the same period Moses was on Mount Sinai pleading for forgiveness for the Israelites after the "golden calf" blasphemy. Moses ascended AGAIN to the top of the mountain on the first of Elul after destroying the first set of Ten Commandments. Moses returned to the Israelites on Yom Kippur 40 days later.
Jewish tradition holds that the Holy One is more accessible during this 40 days of Elul to Yom Kippur! The mystical sages refer to this time as "THE KING IS IN THE FIELD" ---check out the Song of Songs I'm telling you it's all connecting!!! This is the time the King leaves the heavenly throne and descends to inspect this world!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey I am not making this stuff up!
CUSTOMS!!!
Beginning on the second day of Rosh Chodesh Elul (September 5, Monday--LABOR DAY 2005) and continuing until(but not including) the day before Rosh Hashannah-October 3- Okay pay attention now---Here it comes... The SHOFAR (First Trump of God)emphasis mine-- IS FIRST BLOWN on the second day of Rosh Chodesh Elul-September 5, 2005. This continues every weekday morning, not including the Sabbath, but yes, including Sunday. The Israelites blew the SHOFAR in the camp to remind themselves of their sin of the Golden Calf and to assure that they would not again succumb to Idol worship. As Rambam (Maimonides) taught in Hilchot Teshuvah, the sound of the SHOFAR during Elul symbolically declares, AWAKE ALL YOU WHO ARE ASLEEP; SEARCH YOUR WAYS AND MEND THEM TO REPENTENCE. ( In the rapture the dead or asleep in Christ rise first!)
SHOFAR--Four sounds are created.
1. Tekiah- a flat straight sound, "Tuuuu"
2.-3. Combination of Shevarim-three broken sounds, resembling sighing, "U-Tu, U-Tu, U-Tu, U-tu," and Teruah-nine rapid sounds resembling wailing, "Tu, Tu, Tu, Tu...okay you get the point.
4. And a final Tekiah- a flat straight sound.Zodiac sign for August 23-September 23, WHICH IS STILL SUMMER ---IS THE VIRGIN(Virgo) ---Are we the five wise virgins? We all pray that we will be accounted as worthy!
Again, I am just gleaning the fields that the Holy Spirit takes me too. I am so enjoying the journey! HALLELU-YAH!
