Why are many "Christians" remaining silent on Pat Robertson's comments? We're making a great mistake by remaining silent.

Let me first say, that I personally like Pat Robertson and over 20 years ago contributed to his ministry ("Founders Club"). And it wasn't too long ago that I would have totally agreed with what he has recently stated. But the Lord has been impressing upon me that situations like these will be used as a foundation for the persecution of Christians within the United States (and probably elsewhere). There has been a "false connection" established, linking our government leaders with "True Christianity." Our government leaders are headed for a tremendous fall. (The coming "World War 3" as reported in Daniel chapter 8.). Many accusations, both true and false, will be connected to President George W., and likewise attributed to True Christians.

Pat Robertson, and anyone who slightly appears to have similar beliefs, are going to be categorized with the ayatollahs and radical Muslim suicide bombers. (I.e.: fundamentalists). This will " justify" their persecutions. The Christians are responding in the same manner that the Muslims in America responded to 911. With silence, which in actuality condones their actions. It is great folly for us to respond the same.

Now I read that Pat is saying that he was misunderstood, and is backing away from his statement. But the truth is that his words were "assassination" and not "taking out -kidnapping." The world easily recognizes this folly, and so should we all. Pat and his followers need to come forward and confess that he has misspoken.

Despite all of our inclinations, and the fact that we once lived in a democratic Republic, we must agree with Jesus when he stated, "My Kingdom is not of this world." We must swallow any foolish pride, and stand for the Truth no matter what the cost. This will cost us less in the long run.

Shalom, John
