I agree that we must preach Jesus as Lord, but the real biblical meaning of this is different from most people preach and understand."If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9, NIV).
"Lord" here is from the Greek word kurios, which a footnote to the NIV Study Bible confirms is actually the Greek rendering of the Hebrew name of God: YHWH.
To be saved, we must believe and confess, in effect, that Jesus was God in human form. That can only come by Holy Spirit revelation. "No one can say, 'Jesus is Lord,' (YHWH) except by the Holy Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:3).
God deals in absolutes. Only 100% is acceptable; 99.999999% fails. If a person had to allow Jesus to be the "Master" (another sense of "kurios") of his life 100% of the time, no one could be saved, because obedience would have to be total, complete, absolute, and continuous. We all fail, and rely on God's amazing grace.
Jesus is YHWH! Or, Jesus is God! Praise His name.
