According to this article, the Bible verses in the Old Testament that refer to Jesus are not read in the synagogue today and neither is the Bible passage in Isaiah 61: 1 that Jesus read outloud in the synagogue in Nazareth. "Generally speaking, Jews excluded from the haftarot those verses on which Christians based the principles of their religious faith."
