Shalom All:What a blessing John's site is!
Yes, there is a day "delay" in responses when posted at 5D ... but ... sometimes that "delay" gives one time to really think about what they are posting. And John can stop the "re-thought" posting! And yes, John does honor a day of "rest" not posting on Sunday. Not a bad idea!!! be it Sabbath or Sunday.
While I've not had to seek the e-mail address to too many Dove posters, those times when I did need such info it was readily given by John. So contact beyond the 5D site is certainly possible. And those "bold-letters" in posters names will immediately give you an e-mail connection.
I do remember the time when 5D went to automated entry! Oh my!!! What a wild time that was!!!! John showed wisdom and COURAGE to return to HIS format which serves us well.
And beware of technology "improvements"!
A life-lesson occurred for us about 15 years ago with our mortgage. Without our knowledge the mortgage was "sold" to a company based in one of the southern states. About three months after that transaction a man appeared at our door ... and was shocked to see that the house was still occupied! He was preparing for foreclosure! Seems the money I had been sending by personal check was re-directed to another account! We discovered this when we looked at the three returned cancelled checks and found they had indeed been tampered with by someone. We never pursued the criminal ... we changed our mortgage provider to a local bank who kept their own service.
From that time on I have always endeavored to get our cancelled checks back! Alas, now with the photo record law I can only get a digital scan! BUT when it does come in the mail I immediately inspect! and get back to the bank if something "different" appears on the check.
Another life-lesson involved our credit card. We had been using a Christian-based long distance phone company which we were extremely satisfied with. They were excited to enter the inter-net service world. They contracted another company to do the work for them. This company required a credit-card number. No problem, we thought, this Christian-based company should know whom they selected to do their work. WRONG!!! We gave our credit card number as required but found we could not access the net through their system - never could! This third party was a fraud.
For six months I battled to get the AUTOMATIC deduction off our credit card for a service we NEVER had! We went to our local bank, through which we had our card, and explained the problem. In the end, we had to close that account and start a new account! THEN this company billed through our local phone company! I never paid that amount of the bill and after several more months finally got the phone company drop the charges.
After that we NEVER do auto-deduct. We send checks for our regular bills and money-orders for information sensitive situations. Got a ministry you support? What is the problem with sending a check/money order? Gives you time to think a little of that ministry ... maybe say a prayer for their work. And I can't imagine a ministry turning down money in any form even when they have to use an "old-fashioned" system

Thanks for your kind words, Dianne. Sometimes I feel pretty mechanical. :)
