New patriarch chosen for Holy Land

In an unprecedented situation; the Greek Orthodox Church in the Holy Land
elected a new patriarch on Monday to succeed their ousted leader in the
wake of a controversial east Jerusalem land deal, even though he is still
recognized by the State of Israel.

The unanimous 14-0 election of Metropolitan Theofilos, by the Church's Holy
Synod put Israel and the church on a virtual collision course for the time
being, and could result in a split in the church.

I'm no Greek scholar but doesn't "Theofilos" mean "Son of God" ?
