Today, we have a lot of "things" that clutter our lives.Jesus often emphasized not getting attached to these "things."Remember the story of the rich young ruler, how Jesustold him to sell his possessions, and to follow Him?The young man left sad, because he had many possessions. We are just stewards on this earth, and actually we ownnothing. They all belong to God." God owns the cattle on athousand hills." We are just to take care of these differentthings, and to use them for the Glory of God.The early Quakers, the Mennonites, and the Amish, all triedto keep there homes as simple as possible. They knew thatwe were just traveling through to a better place. They knew that earth was not our permanent home.Jesus knew that if we started being more interested in"things" that we would soon lose our focus upon Him,and want to buy more, and more.Look at all of the sins that comes from the LOVE ofmoney. Greed, jealousy, envy, and hatred. People love moneymore than they love other people. They love it so much, that they are willing to kill each other over it.The things in our life should have nothing more than maybesentimental value to us. Nothing more.We should not be so attached to what we have that wefeel we will miss it when the rapture takes place.Remember the story of Lot's wife, how she looked backwith regret, because she loved that wicked city of Sodomand Gomorrah? Even Jesus told us to remember Lot's wife.I think that that is why so many people are trying to get ridof the "clutter" in their lives. They are saying good-byeto the "things" of earth and looking forward to the beautyof Heaven. When we compare what God has ready for usin Heaven, the things here on earth fail in comparison. What I own now, has very little value to what I have waiting forme in Glory. Hallelujah, AmenSusan
