in 1999 when me and my wife were not
able to sleep at night !

Lately, my wife, Darnette, and I
have been talking about the many
"Sleepless Nights" we seem to be
having and I tell her I awake feel-
ing like I have been in warfare all
night long. She and I are up lately
into the early morning hours of
every day praying !

Well, today, Darnette, gave me a
Bible verse: II Cor. 11:27, that she
said the Lord had given her last
night.

II Corinthians 11: 27/ In weariness
and painfulness, in WATCHINGS
often, in hunger and thirst, in fast-
ings often, in cold and nakedness.

I will remark about WATCHINGS
further down this writing.

WATCHINGS in Strong's Concord.
#70 Greek says: sleeplessness, or
keeping awake, or to watch.

In Thayer's Greek Lexicon #70 is
related as: to be sleepless, keep
awake or watch. Related addition:
"One that is guarded against ad-
vances of drowsiness or bewild-
erment. Adding: Thus it becomes
a term for wariness against spirit-
ual dangers and beguilements.

I Peter addresses this issue of
being ever watchful or the use
of WATCHINGS in God's word.

I Peter 5:8/ Be sober, be vigil-
ant; because your adversary
the devil, as a roaring lion, walk-
eth about, seeking whom he may
devour.

So, if you too, have been awake;
alert, sleepless many nights or
awakened in the night, then God
is thus: PROTECTING you !!!

As the enemy of our soul attacks
on all fronts, as he has lately, then
we may spend many more sleep-
less nights in defensive protection.

Be Alert, Be Awake, Hear God and
Be Protected !!!
