Hi Simon,

I used to live on Crete, near the village of Gournes outside of Iraklion. It is unlikely to have heavy snow, the climate is much like central California, with dry summers and moderate rain in winter. There is one mountain on Crete, Mt. Ida, it's not that high, I have seen a dusting of snow but it's rare. Just my experience.
