"It is Not a Sin Not to Vote"

What if every Christian in the U.S. would take one day a week...the same day to pray and fast before the Lord?

What if we did this with as much zeal as we put into thinking and persuading about politics? What effect would this have?

First it would affect us. We would become more humble, realizing our lack of sincerity to the Lord.

We would find the secret sins in our lives, we would begin walking in the grace Jesus has given us. We would start to live the lives we are suppose to live.

Then others around us would begin to ask us what is different in our lives. Now we have the open door to proclaim the gospel. Paul spoke of this open door and how we should pray for such.

What if all the radio and TV ministries put away their self serving efforts and began to call upon the American Christians to fast and pray once a week? Think of the unity. What effect would that have?

I believe it would have a tremendous effect...and that is probably why it isn't happening.

Jesus spoke of the leaven of Herod...this is the political hypocrisy that has come into the church. We are to have no part of Herod's leaven.

If we really want to see America turn around...we must turn around first. IF we truly want to turn around we should begin in our own lives to seek the Lord with all our hearts, pray and fast that the Lord will break the yoke of bondage in our lives in order to break the yoke in our nation.

A fasting and praying church will do far more to change the nation then a politically savvy church.

So, it is not a sin to not vote but it could be a sin not to be praying and fasting for our families, friends and nation.

Therefore I challenge all of us. Will we fast and pray once a week until such a time that we see the hand of God working in our lives, our families lives, our friends lives and then in the nation.

Would we be willing to challenge others to the same thing? No doubt it would please the Father. I do not think he would say "nay". He looks upon the humble does he not? And when he looks he gives grace to the humble, that we may minister grace to those who hear us.

It is my hope and desire that all God's people would rise to such a challenge, humble themselves through fasting and prayer that we may see his hand of revival sweep through our land. It is the only way things can possibly change.

  This is what I think.
