Dear friends:Below is Agent 007's report # 2 from the Republican National Convention.

_____________________Jim,
Everything is going very smoothly here at the Republican National Convention. Yesterday, on Sunday, there was a well publicized "anti-war" demonstration and march in the area around Madison Square Garden. Although it was billed as an anti-war march, it was for the most part an anti-Bush march. From the network coverage of the march I didn't hear any pro-Kerry or pro-anything else comments from the speakers. It seemed that is was all against President Bush. These people don't seem to really like Senator Kerry. It is simply an "anyone but Bush" mentality. There were a few hundred people arrested, but I guess that would be considered normal for that size of protest. They haven't had any significant impact on the delegates or any other activities inside the convention itself, although it drew considerable media attention.
As the convention was gaveled to order this morning the spirit inside the hall is in amazing contrast to what I experienced at the Democratic National Convention. Even the countenance on people's faces is different and I am doing my best to be objective as I am writing this. I was even talking to one of the reporters that is here from the BBC and he commented that although they are busier here than they were at the DNC, everything is easier to do, so calm and going so smoothly. I have heard that from several people here.
This more and more convinces me that this is a spiritual battle. This may upset some people when I say this, but if you just simply compare the platforms of the Republican and Democratic parties, it is easy to see which one aligns more with the Bible. I didn't say it would perfectly align, the only political organization that will ever do that is the one that Jesus will Himself set up during the Millenium. In studing the books of Kings in the Old Testament you will find that each King of Israel is judged to have done right or wrong in the sight of God. But every king that was said to have done right in the sight of God was not perfect and their imperfections were often listed in the scriptures. George Bush, by his own admission if far from perfect, but I believe that when the final history is written about the United States, he will be listed as having done right in the sight of God.
More later....
