Agent 007 report # 1 from the RNC

Aug 28, 2004
Dear friends:During the Democratic convention, we received several reports from an anonymous friend working there. I called him "God's Agent 007."
Now Agent 007 is at the Republican convention. Below is his first report. Let us agree with him in his prayers as he described.
Jim
_______________Jim,
This was my first trip to New York City. Our approach to LaGuardia Airport on Thursday bought us right up beside the site of the World Trade Center on my side of the aircraft. It was my first look, first hand at the place where our nation came under attack 1080 days earlier (oddly enough, exactly three Biblical, 360-day years). It was truly a humbling sight.
Preparations for the Republican National Convention are going well. The atmosphere inside Madison Square Garden is very busy, yet I sensed a peaceful spirit. The RNC has made some major changes to the arena where the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers call home. First, steel supports were brought in and a new floor was constructed that is about nine feet above the basketball and hockey floor level. So the delegates and all convention activities will be on the raised level, but unless you knew the floor was raised, or you were familiar with the arena beforehand, you wouldn't know it. So, in the nine feet underneath the raised floor, the RNC has put in work areas that will support the activities going on above. The "Green Room" is there where President Bush will wait on Thursday evening before he addresses the convention. The raised floor also allows a circular stage that is on hydraulic lifters that will allow musical entertainment groups to raise from the area beneath. For Thursday night when President Bush speaks, a 35-foot runway will be added that will connect to a small round stage where the president will address the convention "in the round", bringing him much closer to those in attendance.
So, as I did a month ago at the Democratic National Convention, I took Thursday evening to move freely throughout the convention facilities to pray over and anoint with oil, the entire facility. It probably took almost three hours to go through all of the states and U.S. territories one by one, the stage areas, the press galleries, the network and VIP skyboxes and the private areas under the raised floor. This was such a privilege to be able to do this and therefore I do take it very seriously. There has been much talk about potential problems during the convention. From talk of terrorist attacks to violent demonstrations, prayer for the safety of the convention and all of those in attendance including those of us who are here working should be high on everyone's prayer list. The saying that has been around for years, "Prayer changes things" is still just as true as it ever was. My prayers as I went through the facility was one of divine protection, that fear has absolutely no place here, that a move of God would come upon all who will speak and attend the convention, and that President Bush will speak his heart to the American people turning to the leading the Holy Spirit rather than speech writers.
I will be writing more of my thoughts and experiences as I work here for one of the major TV networks. Everyone's prayers are greatly appreciated.
