HI PKSo ole muscle head Arnold feels more strongly about making symbolic cost cutting moves by using one ply toilet paper, and then sticking his head in the toilet when it first came to reeling in a renegade public office holder who was challenging and breaking the anti homosexual marriage laws of California; OK, OK, I'm buying that so far....(?) <G>
And then to find out that the 108th Congress did pass a "partial" birth abortion bill after all.Now that has really been kept well under the radar by most everyone; and it certainly does cause one to wonder why.Actually the whole thing can be seen to be a glass half full, or a glass half empty; depending on the individual.
In reading over the bill, it states that there had been 27 individual states that had already passed such legislation-- which is really where this topic should be anyway. And that the 104th, 105th, and 107th Congress's had already passed such legislation, before GWB ever came along. The question is, was the bill sent on to Clinton for signing, and if so, did he veto it or what, and if Clinton did veto it, did Congress then try to over ride the veto?
Whatever the case may be; when it all said and done there is still more than enough full abortions still going on.For which I go back to what I've said already; and that is that the Lord God will be the final arbiter and judge over the ones who have had it done, the ones who have performed it, and the ones who have played the games and politics with it.That bill is below by the way; along with the voting record of each member of Congress on it.As I have said about Kerry; judge Kerry by his voting record rather by his military record; his voting record is the more telling and is of the more importance anyway.
And by the way PK, I agree with you that one should vote or not vote according to the candidates views and opinions, as well as for the office rather than a party. Also, just casting a vote based on whether the guy has a chance of winning or not is not much more than a popularity contest; might as well just make it a political beauty contest and be done with it.When I've voted in the past, I've never voted for a political party, but for political candidates that shared my views. And I've refuse to vote for anybody at all based on that same principle; the official word for that being to "abstain"; and that also is a persons choice to make.
