  Excellent choice of a post there Ellen.Mr. Peroutka certainly introduced some interesting information into the mix.The mentioning of so many important issues that most rank and file Christian's are concerned with; and then to find them not even showing up on the official Republican party we site menu for choosing or picking possible party platform issues.If information like this doesn't start to wakeup some Christian's out of their slumber, then nothing will; and I really think that nothing will anyway.
 
  One of the things people in here, as well as many others wants to hang their GOP hats on is "ABORTION".I have never, until today, ever mentioned the abortion topic; and I had my reasons.The primary reason being that the Lord God will ultimately deal with all abortionists and aborters in His own way, and by His own Law.......and woe to those people!!!And the secondary reason is that I have always thought that this topic is a states rights issue and not a federal issue, and I'm not going to change my mind, and I'm not going to argue and debate about it.
 
  One of the Christian Bushite battle cries has always been, and still is that George Bush is an anti abortion type guy.And that he is the great white hope and champion for this cause, and he is the right guy to carry their banner in this regard.I hate to be the bearer of bad news; but that is pure nonsense; GWB knows it, and its time for Christian's to understand it.Christian's are being hoodwinked by the GWB propaganda, as Mr. Peroutka so ably pointed out.
 
  Look.....Bill Clinton was only in office for 16 months in his first term, when his own Democratic controlled Congress brought him the Pro-Abortion Bill to sign into law in May of 1994; there was no messing around with those guys back then.Funny thing, we are now 43 months into the GWB presidency, and that Clinton law is still on the books unchallenged.http://www.plannedparenthood.org/abortion/law/protection.htm#otherlaws
 
  It's not been repealed, overturned, banned. rescinded--nothing, and the way it looks, nothing will get done during this present Bush term of office; and now we find out that it isn't even on the landscape for a possible platform issue coming up this month at their convention; and which probably means it won't be found on any second term agenda; as GWB would probably be too hard at it as the "war president."
 
  And besides, the abortion issue really isn't as important to Bush and his party, as it was to Clinton and his party; and GWB, as well as his fellow Republicans have shown that by now.Also, it's not like GWB hasn't had a Republican controlled Congress to work with the past 43 month.So where've they been and why hasn't GWB been behind and pushing those guys, if this issue is of such importance to him?I mean, they all passed the Patriot Act all in one late night session even without even reading it or debating it or even basically discussing it at all; because of time constraints or something or other, or whatever the reason.
 
  The Republican's have control of the Senate 51-48-1 and they have control of the House 228-206-1.They're in control of all the full committees, sub committees, special committee, and everything else in between, from the highest leadership positions right down to the brand of toilet paper they have in the johns--yet any type of anti abortion legislation has yet to come forth from them and it won't; and GWB can be expected not to be concerned with it in the future, which can be said just by back looking back at his past; but he certainly will talk it up for the media just the same.And after all is said and done, Bush is still their anti abortion guy according to deceived Christian's everywhere--but the thing is, not all Christian's are deceived by any of this posturing.Don't even get me started on the gun issue or any of the amendments.
