This was sent from a Christian brother who is going on a walking mission trip in the nothwest US. The letter is from his friend in Hungary. I'm removing names and places. English isn't perfect, but readable. Please pray for both brothers as they do mostly street evangelization, relying on the Lord to bring people to them to speak to, and relying on Him to meet their needs.
Here's my report from the street evangelization in Hungary,
Thanks so much for your beautiful mails and beeing
with us with your prayers and thoughts!Thursday: After three day fastening and prayer we went with a drama group and the preacher , who was once the singer of Hungary’s first punk band and a known actor here. We had also a popconcert performed at another place. We could speak with many people, me as German with lot of tourists.
In a café I had a good conversation with a German businessman who came into town due to be divided from his wife. Gave him a tract about a woman who wants to tell her friend finally about Jesus and finds out this friend died some days before she could reach her. Without reading it yet(!), this guy told me about his friend whom he tried to find in another city 20 years later and they told him there he would have come just one week too late, because his friend killed himself. This event made him think, but he doesn’t believe yet, even so he served as a child in the catholic church. For him it’s just a bis show, said him that truth is not a game and told about what Jesus did in my life. I gave him my adress, so if he’s back in Hungary he can reach me. He was very happy about the meeting, (and me too).At the end of the day I was so happy and full with His spirit in big big joy.Friday: We where in the city’s pedestrian zone. Again good talks, openess of the people in general, talked to three witches, later I sent my wife to an older guy to speak with and then I spoke together with a brother with a girl and two boys and they wanted to come Jesus in that very moment and when they spoke the prayer on the street I didn't look after my children, realising one of them (3 years old) was missing when I opened my eyes. We couldn’t find her nowhere, so we asked the police and their collegues found her 300m(!) just about to cross a 4 zones car street at the end of the ped.zone! We where shocked and I did not really feel to go on with telling other people about Jesus, but when I saw a lonely guy sitting near a fountain I decided not to led the devil have the last laugh and still to go to him, also if I am not feeling suitable. And how the Lord used exactly this what I had made through: Turned out this guy speaks good German: a Turk living in the Netherlands. He told me he lost his two children(!) in the big earthquake in Turkey in summer 1999 and he had a dream with Jesus bringing him back his two children in Heaven, showing him they are allright. Not Mohamed!! H was surprised and wanted to make the sign of a cross with his fingers like he had seen it from the Catholic church, but Jesus said he doesn’t need to do this, what counts is his believing in his heart. He said, Since then he believes in Jesus Christ. His wife went away from him after the children where lost.
He was very alone and stayed 1,5 years in a hospital to cope with his situation, which broke so suddenly into his life. I invited him to us and to our congregation, where he came also, happy to find brothers and sisters in Chist. I showed him the book of Job (Hiob) and he started to read like somebody eating bread who did not eat for one week. If you want you can pray for H, as he went now back to the Netherlands that he might find there real brothers and sisters and can grow in Jesus despite his pain.
Saturday: We went on a street, located between a Barockfestival and the marketplace and we could talk to a lot of tourists again and also to a lot of gipsies, some of them asked for coming Jesus into their hearts right at the very place! Hallelujah! Because a lot of members in the Hungarian society do not like them, they are so happy to receive love and open hearts. They are a bit like children and see things like they are. That makes them easy guests to invite them them to the big table at Jesus' marryparty.
I could talk as well to many old and young Germans, Swiss and Italian tourists and as they had their spare time they had an open ear and time for the good news.Sunday: I relaxed and went to print more trakts, had a phone conversation with H, who said to having had an eptileptical attack and was happy to hear from us. In the evening my wife A and me went to the countryside to look aftwer a house we heard is for sale. We found it and it has a well and a lot of soil and a young boy showed us around. He was very sad in a way. In the evening I prayed for him.
Monday: Again I met many Germans, I had a very good conversation with M who had many questions and an open heart for Jesus. Also the young boy, who showed us the house in the evening before, showed up(!) and I could give him information about Jesus! Hallelujah!
Many other talks, do not remember them..:)Tuesday: We went with a big preacher who was a former box champion and G, who suffered 20 years with big lung problems (the doctors gave him just one year left and he could not go to the toilet any more, just living from oxigen bottles to survive and 200 injections per week against the pain and Jesus healed him this May in one week! When he showed himself to the doctors and clinical professors they couldn't believe it! His lungs where grown in this time 30% and they where not injured anymore, also he did not need to use any medicine anymore! This guy was telling his testimony on the streets and I translated it to a Dutch woman, she and many others came to Jesus after that. The Dutch woman was crying and told she finally does not have heart pain anymore! Jesus gave her a new heart! We pray for hear husband in Netherlands, who suffers from cancer and wanted to kill himself in June with a medicine overdose. May he find also the true redeemer! Talked also to some of my Hungarian collegues I saw on the street (as God sent them to take a walk in the city center a this precise time :)) and as they speak also German it’s a good opportunity to give them German trakts. There came along also A, a good friend of mine and we had a good talk about Jesus and I pray he may find Jesus soon! But also many other interested and open hearts who just need to hear more of Jesus. Let’s pray that they will find also the last steps to open the door for Him.
Altogether it was a great week and I am sure there is nothing better in the world than to go and tell about Jesus and what he does. I just want to go on....Praise the Lord for you in praying for us and praise the Lord for providing such an open field for us here, Praise the Lord for doing so many signs and wonders to help our heartened hearts to understand and see He is alive! All Praise and Glory to Him!
Much Blessing!
